Day 14; (77F Ph5.8 Humidity 64%) (Going to just count days from here)

AG Status; "Super Grow" Light 24/0 (AG hood & 50W LED UFO) Water & Air 24/0 (Put the hood back on)

WOOT. My plant looks great. She snapped right back. I did some reading last night, and was thinking that the AG hood might be giving the thing some light in a spectrum that it needed and the UFO might not have. Because it happened when I removed the hood. I now think thats wrong, and the poor thing just needed to be fed.

I got my growpanel45 yesterday. I like it. Now I don't want this thread to turn into a LED good or bad thread. There are places for that. So if your a naysayer to the LED's please don't leave your ranting here. I have done a lot of homework and some testing and this is what I have found.

When I started looking into lighting. I must say I didn't know shit. I still don't know a lot about the big ones. My friend that gave me the AG let me use 2 of the 14W growpanels from Sunshinesys, and they seem to be doing the job. So the first thing I started looking up was LED lighting. Now as a total noob you type in "LED grow light (good or bad )" into Google and see what ya get. lol. Ok so now we got some reading to do, and I did. For 2 days. I sifted through reviews and threads on the subject. I started to notice. By looking at the dates. You could tell that the trend was shifting as the technology started to improve. More and more people were saying good things about them. That is when I found my first rollitup thread .

Read it. It's a good one.

What he did with the help of SICC and Da420Monkey was insane, and he only had a 90W UFO. So this gets me really interested in trying one. I find a tri band 50W UFO for $99.00 free shipping 7th gen. Now I have hung this light on the front side of the AG. Pointing right at the LR2 I have sprouting, and in 3 hours the plant bent 90 degrees. Pointing right at the UFO. I moved the UFO the the back of the AG, and point it in. In 2 hours the plant is straight up and down. In 4 it is bent the other way. That plant is in love with that light. It is chasing the thing allover the place. So when I get the new Growpanel45. The UFO is hanging in the front facing in. and the plant is in the front center hole(pro 100) bent 90 degrees. I slid the panel light in behind the AG, and point it in. It took about 5 hours for that to pull it back to pretty close to straight again. So nobody can tell me that it's not working the plant is telling me it is. Ok so sure the big lights might still be better. I don't know. I do know I like what I see, and that this is working for me so far. So keep a open mind people. LED's are only going to get better I think.

Hey GOM,

Your journal has helped me a lot, but wanted to see if you or others could maybe help me out with a issue. I don’t know if you have read my journal (link below)
but I posted my issue below. Sorry for butting in on your journal, but need some help. Thanks!

Alright, well that unfortunate time has come, and I think we might have a problem.
Since the last set of pics (3 days ago) the leaves at the bottom of the plant have started taking a turn for the worst. A few have browned up, and fallen off the plant. The others are still attached but browning. Now this is only the bottom set of leaves of the plant, rest of her looks great. She has even started flowering, and nice hairs coming out.
I decided to flush the water every two weeks, rather than every week like I have been doing. I did not add the week’s scheduled nuets on Sunday; rather I waited till the reservoir needed more water which was today.
Please let me know what you all think. I am unsure if its simply from the stress endured this past week (LST, topping, 24 hours dark), or if maybe is some sort of nuet deficiencies.

Thanks in advance!

Hey good to see ya and no prob. I stopped by your thread and can see "SICC" is on the job there. He should be able to get you on track again. I have found that I don't need to ask to many questions. I can find most of the answers in this form. Because some body has already asked it, and SICC has had the answers for a lot of them. So do like me and listen to him. For he is wise in the way of the AG. LOL

Have a good grow and I'll be checkin it out.

Day 28; (78F Ph5.7 Humidity 62%)

AG Status; "Super Grow" Light 18/6 (AG hood & 50W LED UFO 28W grow panel) Water & Air 24/0

Things are not good. What I did was kinda dumb I think. A friend and I have gotten a little crazy last week and we build a better mouse trap. Well in this case it's a better Aerogarden.

So here we go real fast what we made. 2 Rubbermaid tubs one is 8" deep and one is 12. We have 6 net pots 3.75" in the top. With shorter tub in the taller one I have 4" space under the bottom of the smaller one for 2 pumps. One is a 375 GPH feeding a PVC spray head. With 9 spinner heads on it. This is attached to the inside lid We put a 160GPH pump in there to feed a 6 position head that feeds each cup from the top and drips in. So I got water everywhere on the inside. I put some ebb n flow drains in the corners of the small tub. To lift the drain point 2" off the bottom. Now the top tub has 2 air stones and sprayers and drips and all that stuff and When it gets to 2" of solution it drains to the bottom to get pumped back up to the top again. It all works great.

Next time I open it up I will get piks of it to post. So you all can see what I mean

So I get this thing going and I get the ph in it right and add the nuts. I just cant help myself I move sprout to the new tub. This was just after the snap back from low nuts. She just drooped right back down. and not sure what to do. I added 1 tea spoon of Superthrive. Now I wait. Not much I can do now. I will be getting a ppm meter next week. So I don't even know if I'm high or low with the nuts. God I still have a lot to learn.

Good news. The friend that had the 2 BS plants is doing really good, and we should have seeds soon. WEEEEEEEE

Day 6; (78F Ph5.67 Humidity 62%)

bucket Status; Light 18/6 (sun blaze T24 & 50W LED UFO 28W grow panel) Water & Air 24/0 (as you can see I have added a 2' 4 bulb T5 light to the mix)

OK guys I'm back. and we have 5 Blue Streaks on the new bucket setup. I'm am calling it the AerowGrowGarden or AGG I'll have 1 up on ebay soon if you like it. Will be posting pic's of it tomorrow, and explaining why I decided to make it

So any way I have gotten a lot better at this growing thing. I will be using this thread for a reference, and to help me keep track of things. As I stated the goal was to learn how to grow this shit and, keep the Blue Streaks going. So the 5 I have going will be the second set to be pollinated. We are going for max # of seeds this run. The first run my friend did 2 plants with the pollen I had gathered . He was still making some small mistakes and he stunted there growth a little. Now there very small to begin with. But the 2 we did were really small. We got like 30 seeds. I folded 2 paper towels twice into a square. Then I soaked with Ph correct water and picked up from the corner and let it drip. So now it's good and wet but not flooded. I put the seeds on one paper towel and put the other on top of that. I then put that in a Ziploc sandwich bag. Now all of this went on a paper plate, with another paper plate as a top. I just slid it on the shelf of the entertainment center on top of the Comcast cable box. Nice and warm there, and we got a 95% germ rate on the first try. SWEEEEEET. So I have 5 in my new setup and I gave the rest to my friend. I also have one Lowryder 2 that should start showing sex this week. We will be pollinating that with the BS pollen if its a girl.

P.S. That shit got me really high and it was a very heady high. The kind of buzz were you could just shoot the shit for hours. It also was a long buzz. Lasted a good long time.

OK So I am not going to bash the aerowgarden here that's not my point. I love that thing. It got me started. But I do except that it has it's limitations for what I want to do. It's just to small for more than 1 or 2 small plans. I want to do 6 In the same amount of space. Mind that I am working with the very short hybrids here. Like the Blue Streak and, the Purple Jem. I am also looking at trying some mini thunderfuck and, some shot term amnesia. So knowing that all of thees are very short. Like 1 to 2 feet tall. My biggest problem has been were to put the roots.

So I made this bucket I dont know how well you will be able to see it. But it's a AG for the most part just round and it holds 1/3 more water. I have made 3 so far 2 for me and 1 for the friend that got me started. It has a submersed water pump that feeds the distributor on top and to has 2 large air stones. the first 1 I made didn't get the front access hole. So it only has 5 plants in it and the 6th spot lets me in. To check Ph and stuff. So far it is working very well for me. Didn't really have time to work the bugs out of the first 1 because I needed to start making some beans. So I took my time with the second 2 and made the changes as I found the problems with the first 1. I will go back and fix the first 1 when the grow is done. so far so good though the little buggers seem to be happy in there new home.

Day 8; (78F Ph5.4 Humidity 62%) working getting Ph up slowly.

bucket Status; Light 18/6 (sun blaze T24 & 50W LED UFO & 28W grow panel) Water & Air 24/0

Gave the little gals a little taste of nuts yesterday. So far they seem to be happy plants. I'm making my own brew. I put 1/2 tsp each of hydrozime, microbrew, superthrive, and Kangaroots in a empty bucket. Then 2 part FF big bloom to 1 part FF tiger bloom until I get the PPM I want. I'm at 105ppm right now. let that sit for a day at the right Ph. When I filled it I put 1 liter from the rez to help keep the Ph stable. also the rez got 1 liter off fresh water to fill it back up. Then when it was time I just put the top on the new bucket and that"s it rez change. I will be drawing 1 gal out every day and check Ph. If its off I will over correct it and put it back in. Every 2 days I will use eye dropper at 2 part FF big bloom to 1 part FF tiger bloom Until we get to 150ppm. I have found that the roots just love the bath of air once a day buy doing this with a LR2 I have been playing with in a net pot bucket lid and a water farm kit.

OK that's all I got for now. peace to all

Sorry guys like I said not my internet so I can't post piks of plants. I am mostly useing this to keep track of what I have going on. When I get my own place it will be piks galore, and a much bigger grow space lol.

Day 11; (78F Ph5.7 Humidity 55%)

bucket Status; Light 18/6 (sun blaze T24 & 50W LED UFO & 28W grow panel) Water & Air 24/0(moveing LED's over a little to cover a LR2 that's about to flower)

OK I am starting to see why this strain was never considered stable. I have 5 sprouts going that all came from the same plant, and I have 3 different plants coming up. We got some inbreeding to do I think. I will just keep crossing back to the first male to see if I can get some kind of consistency. Also have 3 more in the Aerogarden just to fill in for any males I get. I will be harvesting the best looking male. So I can inbreed back into that one a couple of times. At some point things should start to get stable. I hope

Day 12; (78F Ph5.9 Humidity 63%)

bucket Status; Light 18/6 (sun blaze T24) Water & Air 24/0

I made the big switch today. Did a sledge hammer flush. Then let it sit with just fresh water for about 2 hours. Had to. I got the PPM up to 150 from 105 like I said I would and it burnt the little buggers. Not bad but enough so that I am saying enough. My friend that got me started. Has been testing GH and has had great results with it. I have just had it with fox farm that shit just is to strong and keeps fucking up my little baby's. So me are now using the General Hydroponics Flora Grow ,Flora Bloom and, Flora Micro. In 6 hours of adding it I can see that the little buggers are much happier. I will use up the rest of the FF stuff on my LR2 grows

Day 15; (78F Ph5.9 Humidity 64%)

bucket Status; Light 18/6 (sun blaze T24) Water & Air 24/0

I had a bit of a PH problem with the nute change. But I think we have that under control now. I think I will lose 2 out of the 5 that I have in the system. They just don't look good. But that's ok. I still have 3 in there doing very well and I have 3 in the old AG that look good so far. This is just a seeding grow. So as long as I get some lady's that do well I will be good. Hoping to get 100 seeds or better out of this one(fingers crossed)

Bucket Status; Light 18/6 (sun blaze T24) Water & Air 24/0

It's a boy. Yep one out of the 5 Blue Streaks is a boy. So we have 2 purple jems, and 1 Blue Streak to harvest balls from so far. I will harvest both PJ's so I can deep freeze 1 jar of it.

Up date 2 of the Blue streaks are male so fare. I have found that the Blue streaks males will show inside of 3 weeks. If the haven't show inside of that 3 week mark they will most likely be a girl. So hopefully no more balls.
