1st Closet HydroGrow

Hey guys, im kinda new to the whole growing thing. Ive been reading the forums for a few months and decided to try to grow on my own since prices in my city are so high at the moment.

But to start, I have a 6 plant system with a 5 1/2 gallon res. and drip feed tubes.(ill have pictures soon)
I already have 7 plants that are around 3 weeks old... i forgot exactly when I planted them but they were shocked from me transplanting them from soil to rockwool cubes... which was pretty hard considering they already had established a pretty good root system and im sure a few were injured in the process.
Now everything is going fine though, they are under 4 48" warm and cool flouros.
And my 400w MH is coming along with my 600w HPS next tuesday i believe.
So they should like that.

I'll post some pictures on my next post if anyone is interested.

Okay so I took some pictures of them all and of my other set of babys that just came out of the cubes today.

But here are my main ones.

Starting from the front left,

This is one of the biggest and its had some LST done(remember im not a professional), actually all of them besides 2 have been weighed down so they wont grow much taller.
If im right?

And this is the one that isnt in the system, i've been watering it 3 times a day and it seems to be doing pretty good other than the stem is kinda thin.... its also right infront of one of my fans in the room. So I dont know what its problem is.

All 7 of these have been under 24 hours of light each day since they came out of they ground and the system waters them 2 times a day.
But as you can see there is alge and some white(i think its mold but not sure),
ive read alge will be on most hydro systems when the light come in direct contact with the media... is this true?

Well hope everyone enjoys this grow, Ill keep updated in this thread.

PS, sorry about the low quality pictures but I wont have my new camera till friday. :(

I don't think anyone is watching,
but I had 12 more seedlings sprout today.

I should have a picture up later of them. I'm thinking of doing a SoG with them,
and ideas?

Finally someone replys!!

Thanks though,
well think I should just try to LST them and keep them short and busy instead of trying SOG?
I'm just trying to get a more experienced growers advice.

Ok so like I said Ive got pictures of the new seedlings,
they're a bit stretched but i put them closer to the light so hopefully in the morning they will have started to grow instead of stretch.

I was wondering why the bottom leaves of a few of my plants have brown outlines,
I'm thinking I didn't use enough nutes the first week?
'cause the bottom sets are the only ones that seem to be like that.
Any advice?

Also I included 2 pictures where you can clearly see where I have been practicing LST.
Just thought I'd throw those in.

Hi mate, looking good. What strain you growing there?

I'm mainly a soil grower but from the leaf you are holding toward camera that looks like tip burn to me. Did you use a half strength soultion less frequently for your seedlings? Id wait before increasing nutes and keep the light nice and close, they'll be fine.

I think you're ok with the algae Im not sure. I know in nature some is even beneficial and we're replicating nature right? If not I'm sure there's a product or method to help.

Thanx man.
They're just some seeds from some local dro.
I hope they survive... considering this is my first grow along with my first
hydro attempt ever so I'm not expecting much?
Just trying to learn.

But yeah for the first week or so i used 1/2, but now its at full....
should I bring it back down for a bit or give it another day to see if thats what the problem is?

This morning when I checked them one of my plants leafs feel like they are drying out and I can see a bit of discoloration in them,
anything?

Okay so here are some pictures of the worst one with the leafs getting "rust" spots and drying out....
they missed watering once yesterday and I had slowed it down from 3 a day to 2 a day so they got a 15minute drip.. I suspect this as the problem
or nute burn?

Please help guys,
I don't wanna lose them.

Ok so I've got tons of updates...
I picked up a Sunlight Supply 1kw HPS kit, with a Eye hortilux bulb... heard they were the best?

But I also got a TDS pen from Milwaukee and a Eco system 220cfm fan to ventilate my HPS.
Also picked up some new timers, power strips, extension cords, a roll of mylar, a new 20gal res., and quite a few other things.

I'll get some pictures of them soon.

OHHHHH,
before I forget... I switched them over to 12/12 yesterday night at 8 PM.

So no one has really replied,
same as I haven't updated..
I've been really busy.
My room has changed a lot, I have a 12k BTU AC in my outer room that leads into the closet to help keep it at a cool temp.
I also set up an ebb and flow table and moved them over into it.
Now its been 7 days since they've started flowering and i'm pretty sure I have
1 hermie... if not more.
I'm going to pick up some of Dutch Masters Reverse and Penetrator and see if that will kill they sacks i'm seeing,... if not I guess I'll just pull them.

But I'll have some new pictures tomorrow.
