1st Grow. Early Misty and Unknown.

Should I trim some of the fanleaves off the bottom so that the colas that are growing near the bottom get more light? It would probably make things a little easier, but what is best for my plants? Let it all be natural or do a little touch-up?

Today is day 8 of 12/12, and I do have pics for you, but I only have 2 minutes to post right now and it takes a long time to get pics from camera to computer to rollitup, so I will do it later, but I assure you there is an update for today.

Pretty much just pics today.

I think I forgot to write last time that I watered with about 1.5x nutes, and the plants are still doing well and no sign of nute burn at all.

Plan to water again tomorrow, zero nutes.

Close-up of em2. She is the bushiest plant, and is now about 11 or 12 inches tall.


U1. You can see how her top is burned but recovering. I think she may end up with 3 little tops - I hope she yields some good stuff even with the burn setback.


U2. Had the worst burn situation, but since I have trimmed and topped, she is doing better, and her new tops are growing nicely.


U3. She's at least 18 (legal and sexy!) inches tall and there's no sign she's slowing down. What a babe.

It's been a while. Sorry about that for everyone who is watching.

It looks like I have a couple identifiable sexes right now. All of the Early Misties are showing preflowers: em2 & 8 seem to be men, and em7 & 9 seem to be lovely ladies. I will keep the men around for a few more days to be sure that I haven't made the wrong diagnoses, but I'm pretty sure I'm correct.

All of the Unknowns look like they need more time to tell sex, especially u1 and u2 because of the burns.

U2 has taken the topping very well. I will definitely attempt to FIM and/or top my plants if I grow again.

U1 is still recovering, so much that I did a little trimming around the top. She will definitely grow a bit longer, but I'm not sure how long she is going to take to flower.

All the plants got around 1100mL of 1.5x nutes today. They were last watered on Day 50 with clean water. I plan to continue my watering regiment until further notice, at which point I will probably switch to a molasses mix for each watering, until the last week or two at which point I will flush.

Also, pictures 4 and 5 are em2, and he is growing quite a lot of balls in the top there.

Today, we found out the final tally for one of the oldest competitions known to the human race: Male vs. Female. The winner, you ask?

FEMALES FTW!

I've decided to try to get some sperm from the males with a method I read about a while ago but can't reference directly right now. I cut the tops off of em2 & 8, and they are now sitting in water cups. I think I may have cut them too soon, but we will see. I hope they live just long enough in those water cups to drop some seed! If I do get some pollen, maybe I will apply to a couple buds and get a few seeds so the species lives on?? We shall see.

I also trimmed all the major fanleaves off of em2&8, and I'm keeping an eye out for more balls to make sure they don't reproduce. The remaining mass is still growing in the room, but they do not occupy the well-lit zone. I can't bring myself to completely kill them yet, so they will probably just sit in the room a little longer until I make a decision.

It feels really good to see pistils on the other 5 plants, especially the unknowns.

In other news, U3 is getting too tall for her own good. She is about 2.5 feet tall, though I haven't had the measuring equipment out for a while. The problem is that my light hood hangs down a good 1.5-2 feet, and the ceiling is only 6 feet, so it's becoming hard to navigate. The solution: Separate u3 from the pack, and hang two bulbs over the top and a couple on the sides. It hasn't been done yet, but I promise it will be soon, simply because it has to be.
This leaves 4 plants under the hood, so, per suggestion, I will probably line up the other 4 in the middle of the hood and add a couple supplemental lights for the plant who hangs off the end.

Fucker! Mom's been around too much and my work schedule has had me crazy so I've been unable to give the plants proper care.

Because of this, em7 has been burned, similarly to how u2 was burned. It's going to recover quickly - it has already started - but it will affect how much stuff she produces.

U3 is growing into my armpit, and the rest are about 1-2 feet shorter than that. [Why the hell is u3 so much taller than the rest???]

I've got to water tomorrow, it's been almost a week since they got water!

It's easy to tell that the bud is starting to form. I have no idea how much to expect.

Damn I hope theburns dont do much. other than that those plants are lookin great. Mine are going in 12/12 today but i have a little dilemma, I'm moving across the street 6 weeks into it if i start flowering now. you think that will be too much stress for the plant or would smell too much when transporting it. Im planning on putting it in a big box to move it.

i am confidant your plant will survive the transfer. they are tough gals. just make sure they get from the old grow space to the new grow space as fast as possible.

Alright, now it's just plain laziness.

It's been ten days since an update.

The pics I am posting today were taken yesterday.

I am going to water a little bit less a little more often, now, and I am going to use some molasses next water, either tomorrow or the day after.

Ii'm really unsure how much smoke to expect from these... not a whole lot, unfortunately, but finally the girls are looking like girls
