1st grow lucky

!st ever grow started mid Sept. Comprised of bagseed, white Widow, Lowryder 2, and an unknown medicinal strain. Quite ambitious but why not.
Popped seeds, planted, put a couple of 4 ft floros over'em and let'em rip.
Now, a month after the first seedlings and three week after added the lowryder 2, I have been rewarded for the care I've taken of my brood. I have 9 lowryder 2
4 white widow
6 bagseed
5 medicinal

All have been under 24/0 and watered very little. I actually let'em all go for a week with NOTHING. They flourished. I fed then with some simple 20-14-9 and they began pushing my lights up pretty quick.
All have their own look with the lowryders being the typical bushy, stout little plant. The Widows are leaved smaller, thinner, with the little spider look from above, the medicinal plants display a thin leaved, many -limbed dainty beautiful plants. The bagseed plants are typical mutts but are all quite strong little plants. All are 12-14 inches with some of the lr2 being 6-7 inches tall.
Over the past several days, I've been going through all of'em in an attempt to sex them. So far, after looking at tons of pics here and elsewhere, I can only find 2 males for sure, 2 maybe hermes, with the rest females. Oh shit....just realizing I might run out of room as I was only hoping half would make it to the final grow room.
Anyway, They all are healthy strong plants just like everyone says and neglect for a week is actually good for them. 24/0 is not only benefitting the lr2, but the other three strains are showing the same types of signs.....bud sites!!!
Now what pisses me is that I've smoked the weed for 40 years....often out or not able to find WORTHY bud....and I have found just how easy this is. Nothing special....just simple methods and I will soon have my own bud, grown with my own hand. I expect christmas we'll be testing the lr2 results. More later.....

forgot to mention that I have Short Stuff Onyx waiting in the wings for space....
Still amazed at how easy this is....I went outta town for a couple of days....watered the lr2 with some bloom food.....everything else with veg food.....sprayed all well with veg mix. When I came home, several had jumped significantly for just 2 days and were in the floros ! A little leaf drying for those that touched but very bushy!!!
I have 2 onyx seedlings now. The white widow and medicinal plants put on the most heights with the lr2 spreading a lot. All, even the bagseed are still strong and promising as I can see it. Moved the one male away from the girls. It appears I do have one hermie in the lr2 group. My largest medicinal is still so dainty although growing "like a weed"..... reminds me of my japanese red maple bonzai.
I am planning a relocation in the next week for most of my grove, some to a hps where I will have a small diy scrubber, better venting, etc. The one male lr2 and one female will be isolated so I can have some seeds.
I would post some pics but my dial up is slow and finicky.:joint:

My closet is getting very bushy! My covey of mj plants are all still thriving with my type of care.....water when dry and leave'em alone. Now using bloom food on the lr2 and veggie food for the others. I must admit, I am fascinated at the "medicinal" strain as they are definitely nice, nice looking plants. From what I've learned around here, they are sativa type. The White Widow I have are a bit more "full" and of course the lr2 are bushy as heck. So far, I still have only FOR SURE identified 2 males in the lr2 out of 9. The widows and the med are looking good but aren't showing sex, as far as I can tell. I did pull some of the weaker/smaller bagseeds. My move this week was delayed but by next week, I'll have most relocated to a hps light. I intend to keep 1 fem with the males to get some seeds for the future but keep everything else isolated. BUT....what if I crossed a male lr2 with one of my widows???? That ought to be fun, huh.
Anyway, my ambitious grow has turned out very good so far....actually turned out way better than the averages. Some of the lr2 are a little more advanced than others and my runt of the bunch appears to have more bud sites than most.
I should have kept a more precise chronograph but I didn't....but everything is at least 5 weeks old with some being 10 days older or so. Gotta get better with keeping a calender.....
Some of my haphazard days are because of some AK47 I copped to tide me over till mine is ready. Now THAT'S some stanky dank!

Update 10-23.
Moved two more of the lr2 as they must be hermies....buds are forming but they have balls too!. The other 5 are definitely fems, little hairs everywhere and thickening at the budsites.
The widows and the meds are still flourishing as far as I can tell....healthy looking, 24-30" tall. The meds are still more dainty looking than the others but are beautiful plants. All are still in 6" pots. I still have 3 bagseed that are vigorous.
I've germed some Short Stuff Onyx for my next grow. Got 8 seedlings so far.

The past 1.5 months has been fun watching these babes grow. Still surprised at how easy it is. While yes, I'm growing them similiarly to bonzai (just more soil) and expect the buds to be small, I'm only growing for my own use and choices of types of highs. Being a medicinal user, I should have plenty!

So far, using the same soil mix throughout has worked for me. I didn't use any nutes till about a month into the grow. I must say they all really took off after introducing veg nutes slowly....I actually tested nute strength on mybagseed plants and burned a couple up so be careful.

hey man soil will do but if you want your plants to boom i recomend going to your local hydro store and buying somee "kool bloom vegi" and some "monsta bud"as a medium.atm i have 2 plants about a month into flowering.n when u startin usin kool bloom flower n monsta bud.i could see the differnce within 4 days.it may cost a bit but its worth it i paid around $80 australian for both monsta n kool bloom.trust me you wont be dissopinted

Sounds good so far keep up the work........any pics by chance??
Just re-located 4 of my lr2.....2 herm, 1 male, one fem to hps let'em do their thing. Will relocated remaining 4 lr2 this week. I realize now that I should have kept up with each batch of plants chronologically....but I was just having fun and marveling about the ease....at least up to this point.
Shit, I have 5 widows spread out in age from 1 week to 6 weeks, several med sativas the same....at least the lr2 were germed in only 2 batches..... I also now have 7 Onyx (Short Stuff) seedlings.
The med sativas are still quite different in appearance with their spindly growth and narrow leaves. Those lr2 seem to be on track as they are forming some nice little buds.
Got pleanty of pics that I'll post soon after I size'em to upload faster since I'm on sucky dial up.
This is quite a hobby and really cheap to do. My next major hurdle to odor control.

I dont know guys. one says this shit is easy to grow, the others are craving "that green thumb" . I am one of the cravers. Mine are a month old, looks like the christmas tree off of charlie browns christmas. They are healthy, i asumme. But really slow to grow.... there is alot of good tips in here. Thanks Guys

Update 11-06
Wow....I'm really impressed with how all my bonzai are coming along....the 5 lowryder 2 are budding like crazy with buds growing all aong the main shaft and also on satelite sites. 3 are taller than the other 2 but all are quite lush with bud growth. One is yellow from abse to tip but still producing nice bud sites just like the others. Must have over-nuted sometime....Still on 24/0 hps....Another month, they'll be drying and curing ! I will be posting some pics of the lr2 in a day or two.
I've been flowering the widows, meds, and bagseed and so far, it appears all the widow and meds are fem. They are under floros/cfl 12/12. All seem quite healthy. Will be checking often to find any that do grow balls even though they all seem to have hairy preflowers from what I've gleaned around here. The bagseed are very slow and not nearly as "full" but do quite well for crash dummies....

Awesome grow so far!!! +rep!!

If you are growing in two different locations (one having a male in it), I would suggest always tending to the room w/ the male last... Eliminates the possibility of you bringing pollen into the other room w/ only females..

Look good 'n healthy in the pics, i'm 50 days into my first indoor grow (3 weeks into flower) and mine look similar to yours... height, size wise... ended up w/ 2 females from 6 random bagseeds... I'll be checkin' in on this one... subscribed

Looks like on of them in a previous pic was kinda bent over... Don't be afraid to somehow tie it up.. Maybe drill a hole or two in the side of the pot and tie it up straight.. Once that main top cola beefs up you could run into problems w/ it wanting to fall over or snap... Don't want that...

I ended up pulling the two hermies and the one male....just didn't want to mess with'em.....Yeah, I did support the leaning ones in their new locations and will be adding chicken wire really soon co control the height of the meds and widows. I have 4 of the LR2 simply standing tall under hps and one under floros doing some lst. Those lr2 are some sturdy little things with 3 of'em being quite a bit taller than the 12-14" norm and growing buds profusely.
Forgot to add the progress on the Onyx....All 8 are still doing good with 3 taking off so far....branching etc. The other 5 are a few days behind....these autoflowers may be small but they are some beautiful plants and I hope they will provide some good smpke! At this point, I believe they will. :bigjoint:

The lowryder 2 are going from clusters of buds to a stick of bud....there are buds all up and down the stalk and growing together to form some really thick clumps. And THAT one is under floros....I can't imagine what the ones under hps is looking like as those 4 were slightly ahead of the one I kept under floros.
Med and widows are still going.....all under floros 12/12. Had one stick his ball out and got pulled and so far have identified 2 females, 1 med and 1 widow. The med has little satelite budsites all over!
ONYX.....one is really taking off....bout 4 " tall and 6 inches across. The other 7 seedlings are very slow....still in dixie cups with some showing slight nute burn from mg soil.
Bagseed.....crash dummies.....3 have survived .....1 showing female so far.

All in all, I have learned a lot from this grow.....and will have a more suitable location next time. But, I must say, this closet grow has been fun!

Appears I am gonna have a choice of herbs to partake from....YES....
I've just checked all my grow and can report that I have 3 widows, 3 medicinal, 3 bagseed crash dummies female and building nice buds even as we speak....To my surprise, the one lowryder 2 that I kept under floros 12/12 is more budd-ie that the ones under hps....

The 5 lowryder are still on course for a 1st week of Dec harvest with the ww, med, and bags having a week of flowering under their belt....just watch'em and check trics in about 50-60 days.....
The onyx are still going but not being as vivacious as the lowryder 2 at the same age.....
Will post some pics in a couple of days of the collection........
