1st grow using aerogarden:trouble!!! need help!!

ok so i was using an aerogarden i got for 100 bucks from bedbathandbeyond...i have been growing for about 2.5 weeks, here is what i have been using:

seed:regular seeds that i had collected from a bag i just bought
indoor closet 3x3x7
nutes:bc recipe for success, grotek super oxy h2o2, and nutes that came with aerogarden
lights: just the ones that came with aerogarden and led blue red spectrum panels(2x from ebay, for side lighting)
setting:tomato

misc: honeywell temp/humidy monitor(buy.com); digital timer(cvs), figure 8 cord(radioshack), honeywell wall mount fan(home depot), hana HI 98129 ph/ec/tds/temp meter(ebay)

so anywho..i was growing straight from seed and they were growing so strong, the roots were white and the leaves werent spotted or wilted or anything. as instructions say in the second week i switched the nutes and water, initially i started with the aerogarden nutes but then went and bought the "technaflora recipe for success" and followed to a "T" the vegatative recipe they said to use, within like 3 days i noticed some of my plants leafs starting to wilt a lil and when i looked at the roots some started to turn a light brown, i have spent a month at least reading not only aerogarden growing but just indoor growing in general,

i bought jorge cervantes dvd and book so basically just saying i have done a lot of research, from reading i read that a brown color was the begining stages of root rot so i used some super oxy h202 and did a 1:10 ratio of bleach water to clean the roots and the medium, the roots turned back white(which probably was the bleach lol) but the leafs never improved and now it looks like my babies are dying, my room temps range between 70-80 and the humidty ranged from 50-60, i made it so the lights would come on at night as to help with the temp and shut off around 4pm where the day is the hottest to again help with temp control, my ph has ranged from 5.8-6.0 which i read is great, the only trouble i have been having and i read is probably the 1 cause for root rot is high water temp, the water has been in the high 70's to low 80's, i have tried everything but buying an expensive water chiller, i was dropping ice cubes every so often into the water.

Still nothing has helped with my water temp, i have read that some people have been able to grow some pretty decent plants in 80 degree water but not reccommended, anywho i was just wondering if anyone could help a 1st timer out...ie by the pics can u maybe see whats wrong...should i give up and just start over and if i do how do i prevent this from happening again...and any suggestions on water control..has any1 else using an aerogarden had trouble with water temp...sorry for the book but appreciate the help!

are you using any nutes? if you are id flush it and give em a day or to in plain ph'd water, also put the water setting on to salad greens to keep the pump on 24/7. i just cut down my plants in my AG cuz they were male :-( time to start over :-)

yeah am using the Technaflora recipe for success kit...i was originally using the aerogarden nutes and they actually had been working fine so far but i switched after the 2nd week...

man least you got to see if it was male or female lol i couldn't even get that close..sorry to hear they were all males...am adding some additional pics of the grow space and other equipment

oh yeah and i forgot to mention i was using a tetra air pump 40 gal and air stone..

thanks for the quick reply i will try that and see how that works...

fyi the reason you see the dwc coolers was after the plants got to a decent size and after i bought an 400w hps(let me know if you think that is to powerful for my growing space) but yeah i was going to move some decent ones into the dwc coolers i built. I also made an aeroponics system with a 264 gph pump and 1/2 tubbing and some 360 misters and foggers to help with the growth but never even got to use em..well just yet i haven't :-(

Nice setup! I'm also using recipe for success kit, it has all the clone stuff in it etc. I like it. Sucks about the aerogarden, i was thinking about using one but I had already spent enough money buying the lights etc.. that i couldnt justify getting one so I just went with soil.

yeah trust me i bought the aerogarden only cause it was on sell...look around if you have a store called "big lots" they are selling them for 80 and aerogarden is offering 20 rebate so 60 isnt to bad, my concept was to start clones and seedlings with the aerogarden and then use the dwc/aeroponics to get some decent sizes since the aerogarden doesn't allow for much root growth...

you could make your own if you got the lights already, biulding something similar but bigger would be good, the AG cant handle more then id say 3 plants with out some problems

My advice, quit making things so friggin complicated. Get some lowryder seeds for 24" lowryders. Use the upgraded light on the aerogarden to get more height, more power, don't be rediculous with the power. You are doing a small indoor grow, or, you should, you are usng an aerogarden. So keep it small. Get some red/blue LED's for 45$ a piece, you can get about 48watts a LED panel, get 2, thats 96watts, plus they are LED, not shitty, and you are going aeroponic, you should get some good results. And use the Aerogardens nutrients, ::shrugs::, my plants has taken a little damage cause i did a little nutrient burn because i was thinking a little too little, but my plant is cranking like a mother. Until we did the nutrient burn, it was flawless. We are talking 1/4" seperating each node, the leaves forming like god himself was drawing my plant for me.

In fact, i can make a box that is specifically designed to set an aerogarden, up the way i just said. Ontop of adding more LED's instead of tin foil or whatever fancy shiny reflective crap you've got there.

Grow 3 plants
use aerogarden nutrients
Go all LED (solves heat issue too, and less power, you can also bring the LEd closer to the plant so you have less stretching, and better results!)
Aim for a 100g harvest
Get a light proof box so you can keep it hidden
And lowryders are made for the aerogarden, seriously, i think AErogrow made that shit.
