1st indoor grow any tips welcome

Hi guys. Just signed up for the site today after buying my equipment for a small inside grow a few days ago.

I’ve bought Grocell 1mx1mx2m tent. A
Greenfingers 600W LED. A Greenfingers 4inch fan & carbon filter kit.

I did plan on growing 6 autos in standard 9litre pots from garden centre. I’m also using a soil similar to the subcool recipe for the bottom half of my pots. I plan on filling the rest of the pot with organic soil and perlite.

I’ve since came to the realisation that the 6 autos may be a bit ambitious for the space and the light I’m using.

I plan on having the lights on a 18/6 cycle.

Any tips much appreciated and like I say I’m keen to hear from posters with experience with a similar grow.

Im in Australia btw. Nice to meet you all.

You have no control when an autoflower flowers or how long it lives. They usually run 70-110 days from seed to harvest.
I would at LEAST bump the light to 20/4. I’ve been running my 600 hps and autos for years on 24/0.

Just my 2 - happy growing and welcome.

9 plants works best for me (photos). Geo cell will do you a few years if u look after it, when u upgrade tent it will make a great veg tent. Geo cell has weak zippers.
Id mix the soils in together.
The 4 inch fan in the kit you probably got will last about 6 to 12 months and fail whilst ur away- probably a Friday night. Look for a nice decent exhaust fan in the meantime. Something that will run no problems for years. Also the ducting is cheap and develops pin holes, little miniature ones, so look into quality ducting to match ur new exhaust fan,
GL and pulling up a chair.

I ended up buying another LEDof better quality to go in there as well, it’s a 200w which puts out 200w allegedly, just having to show some patience now and waiting on the girls showing their face!

These are my girls at day 20
Have started tying the main goals down and away from the light however they are very fragile and hard to get in amongst at the moment.

The markings on some of the leaves are from the coconut water I’ve been using to help water them.

Just posting a progress update and welcoming any advice, thanks again!BD941FAA-43A9-4551-882C-C6000330B361.jpeg035C1C92-4022-4BC4-8ED3-32169088AD07.jpegD90D4837-7B7B-4FBE-9D9D-2C9C6E062DD9.jpeg36AF49B5-91ED-402E-928B-2C8C21E67C80.jpeg

They look good, I wouldn’t water with coconut water but with plain filter water. You should get some seaweed extract to water with for trace minerals. Goodluck

Thanks mate, I’m only adding a little amount of coconut water to plain filtered water at a ratio of about 1/5 as I read it would help my plants access the nutrients they need in the soil.

I got this bottle from Home Depot for $10. This will help the microbes In your soil feed your plant. What soil are you using??

Thanks for that I’ll look into it. I’m in Australia and bought a store cooked version of the subcool recipe, I’ve got that on the bottom half of my pots and just a standard organic potting mix on the top half.

Your soil will need sugars to help feed the microbial life inside of it. I recommend molasses, and then something to help bring microbes to the soil would be URB, expensive online but it’s good stuff, and liquid seaweed.

Thanks very much for this info it’s just what I need. I was planning on using some molasses with my next watering. Is there any dangers/things to avoid while using it?

This guy goes into all the science and breaks it down so it’s easy to understand. I recommend watching his grow series! You could learn a lot about organics!
