yea chicken wire will protect them, I didnt use it because I waited til my plants were almost 20 inches tall before i put them outside. I've had much success indoors but this outdoor thing makes me nervous, cuz i cant control the environment lol. I got high hopes tho, weed grows wild EVERYWHERE around where i live, so i gotta make sure to take out every male in the area, but last year that shit grew almost 10 feet tall, like giant christmas trees they were!! i reached as high as i could and couldnt even come close to reaching the top cola, even if i jumped i still couldn't reach it, im 5'9 if that gives you an idea of how massive these things are!! i hope mine get that big!! I have been watering with nutrients as needed. best of luck to the both of us!!
