1st "real" grow.. Advise from experienced ppl appreciated

Yea, they get kinda outta control with the nute prices. I went to the hydro shop a few months back, with the intention of buying either beasties bloomz or cha ching from Fox farm , (this was the time I bought the gift card to order seeds and found out u couldn't use it) I had $55 on the card and at that point I really didn't care what I bought because I really wanted to get the seeds but fuk it .I just had $55 to blow now, that's all. So anyway i go to the store and the beasties bloomz and cha ching were both Like 35 or $40 each. So I said f*ck that!!! And those bottles were small as sh*t. I know it would last me a few grows, but still. I hate feeling like a sucker. And really, nobody can actually tell u what it does, just a bunch of scientific b.s about micro-organisms or sum shit.now I know about the benificial micros & sh*t, and that is all good sh*t. But they say the same shit about a lot of sh*t, just ask them about any organic nutrient and they'll give u the same speach wether its about worm castings or bat guano or whatever... So anyway I just bought a $10 bag of foxfarm soil, (which I have never used BTW, I'm currently using roots organic) I bought a $15 green light, (the one that goes on the brim of a baseball cap) and a $10 bottle of molasses (its called black label or black strap.. idk , something with black in it) after tax I had about $15 left on the card and I went to the 99 cent store and bought a bucket to mix my nutes, a watering thingy, and a cheap bag of topsoil... Now to be honest I haven't used any of this stuff yet, only the molasses about 3 or 4 times. But it still beats the 1 little bottle of beasties bloomz or cha ching that I would have bought and that no one could really give a definitive answer on what it actually does. And hey I've added to my collection of grow supplies & I have some soil for future grows.

Im telling you man xnutrients is the way its 30$ for a gallon of nutes I got the whole nute program for like 230.. And thats like 10 bottles of nutes man you can't go wrong with xnutrients, try it out you wont regret it

Yea.. I might, its just that I already started buying Fox farms line if nutrients .. I already have the grow big , big bloom and tiger bloom, and that's the main nutes, I'm only missing the additives , u think there are only 3 I don't have, beastie bloomz, cha ching, and open seseme ... So I figured I might as well stick to dc since I already started.. is fox farm that bad?? When I first started reaserching nutrients it seemed to me like everyone was using Fox farm.. now that I'm a little deeper into the growing culture I see that people use a lot of different sh*t, mostly advanced nutrients , but there's way too many bottles to buy so I can't f*ck with it.

I just read my first page to this thread.Damn... I feel like I came a long way in just this grow alone.. its only been 2 or 3 months but it feels like its been about a year.

I Just got fox farm yesterday,and beastie bloomz you should be fine with what you have I mean cha ching and open wouldnt be bad but its all in thr grower

Ok I've been reading this thread from the beginning and got great info on here you guys really know your stuff and how to grow quality bud. Anyway I was wondering sims how many weeks into flowering you were

I haven't ever used Fox Farms but I think that is pretty much old school shit that hasn't changed much in the recent years. I could be way off on this but I have heard/read a lot of people saying that Fox Farms is outdated and has a high salt content. That's why I am paying so much for H&G nutes, they have a very low salt content. All of my sample buds have had completely white ash and that was with an incomplete flush. I am harvesting tomorrow so I will let you know what the fully flushed and cured bud is like.

Again, just from what I have heard/read and maybe I should shut my fucking mouth...

Wassup anwall.. I just started week 6 of flower yesterday.. & I just gave my ladies a nice trim.. im going to put up another video tomorrow... But gotta go to my friends house to steal his WiFi lol.. im getting mine hooked up on Monday. I would go upload it now.. but its raining. So early tomorrow morning ill do it ... But being that I run on cpt time ... That should prob b around 2:00pm est lol

Nah Berkman.. u da man.. I def value ur opinion. Yea lemme know what that bud is like . I had no bud this morning and I smoked the rest of those "sugar leaves".. it wasn't that bad, I mean it wasn't good but I've done that before and it was horrible!!! I think it wasn't so bad because it dried out or Maybe just because its all I had lol. It was def no medical grade but it was atleast equivalent to some low grade.. it got me buzzed about the same way a nickel bag of some regs would.. so for some damn leaves, not bad!! I can imagine how the bud will taste. I wanted to rip off a test bud today but still don't have the balls. I know me, once I start that, ill b picking buds everyday. Buy the time im supposed to harvest in 2-3 weeks there won't b sh*t left , so imma just fall back and try pacience for a change.. I worked way too hard to f it ^ now.

so after spending the night debating on it, my impatient pothead side beat my patient grower side.. I was expecting to get some $ today.. long story short. I ant get sh*t. & if I have no wake & bake I might commit suicide in the morning lol. So here are some pics of the buds I picked off to sample in the morning.. hopefully I won't make a habit of this , and the rest of my bud will remain untouched until harvest.

Since you already raped your plants, you might as well make sure you completely dry those samples before smoking them. Trust me, don't smoke wet bud it sucks asshole and is usually super harsh because of the steam coming off of the wet bud. That's why your sugar leaves tasted better, they were dryer.
