Yea ive never grown in coco so was curious about it, i do wanna give it a go one day, iv already got ph and ec meters from when i used to grow in hydro.

I didnt think that checking ec levels was that crucial as iv never seen anyone mentioning it when coco growing.

Do you buy the bagged loose coco or the compressed bricks?

I've used both and they will both grow nice plants but I prefer bagged. Mostly because I'm lazy and I don't like to have the extra step of soaking and breaking up the brick. The other reason is my hydro store has bags of coco premixed with worm castings which I really like. It's true that e.c. is not as important in coco as it is in hydro but I like to check it every now and then to make sure things don't get out of whack. I've had some salt buildup that caused my runoff ppm to spike and if I hadn't checked it, my plants would have been damaged before I knew to flush.

Cool, thanx for that Mared, tho if i do ever go the coco route il probably get the bricks, easier to get a load in the house without arousing suspicions

well, this is the first time I use Coco, it is the bagged kind. the bricks look to be a lot more messy and actually I did get some looks bringing a 50L bag up the hill to my place. ahhahaha

but so far looks good, it seems to work for the plants. looking at the pic of that rootball!!!

so any thoughts on my pot sizes???

What was the input ppm? The important thing is what the difference is between input and output. That tells you how much your plant is taking up.

I actually forgot to check, will do with next watering. just forgot that i had the meter... will water again in fews with nutes...

What kinda finished plant size are you lookin for?

For plants over a meter tall i use 10ltr pots as the final size, for smaller plants i use 6ltr squares as the final potsize, but others will always say different. lol

And all my fans stay on 24/7, extractors and oscillating fans, they never get turned off lol i used to run the oscillators on a timer 15 on, 15 off, but theyre on 24hrs now since iv had a little budrot problem.

ya, even talking to the people at the shop, all say something different...

due to space limitations, I think max 130cm (ca. 51 inches) but thinking with the HPS so close, more like 110cm (ca. 47 inches) or lower.

next grow, will have more space...

damn, so before was it the humidity building up?? how about the level now?
im in Switzerland, and here humidity is not too much of a worry right now.

Capt Ron, pot size doesn't really mean anything with coco in my experience. Those 6 foot(~1.8 m) tall plants you saw in my journal were in 2 gallon(~7.5 liter) pots from cutting to harvest. Whew, lots of conversions there.

Capt Ron, you are looking pro. You're on your way to some nice buds, dude. I'm growing Jock too. This is my first time with it and at day 23 flower it is already frosty as hell!

well pro is pushing it...:blsmoke:hahah

I got the seeds at the shop here, and for 30 swiss francs, good deal...

hope yours turns out nice

the 2 clones and 5 early bud are looking good, about the same size now. still on 1/2 strength nutes.

Of the 5 Jock Horror, 2 poped the surface and 3 still waiting. they are now 2 days in soil and roughly 24 hours in paper towel. just phd water

Am now thinking to veg all for ca. 3 more weeks as I have the new seeds and additional Space.

:joint:any thoughts?

Wow. Really nice, bushy, and healthy plants there! I'm seriously impressed. You have natural talent, dude. No BS. There's not many people that can do it this well right off the bat. Maybe talent isn't the right word. Commitment? Common sense? Either way, you rock!

One thing I would say is don't base the amount of plants on your available space but rather on available light. You can have all the space in the world but if the plants are competing for the same light source it won't make much of a difference.
