yah i think you honestly wasted your money on those cheap chinese led's....... there are plenty of USA peeps that make leds for a decent price..... im using lighthouse hydro's blackstar series and i got my 100w for 120 shipped and it took aprox 3 days to get to me from click my mouse to my house. might want to do more research on leds as they are not all the same at all bro. if you have the chance i would back out of that deal with the chinese unless you want poo poo quality bulbs.

Nice abecsta! When will you be getting clones or seedlings in there? What are your plans just 1 plant or a couple?

sweet where abouts in nz are ya? that 150mm inline will be heaps to move the air from your closet space, you can get the fan and filter in kitset from sog I think. If I grew just 1 in there i would use atleast a 5 gallon (18 litre) pot like the square 1s i use and top loads, then lollipop (cut away all the lower growth so stems are bare) then use a screen and fill the screen up get loads of kolas up top :) Low wattage grows do good like that because light cant penetrate that far and the lower growth would just be shaded and produce popcorn buds so its better filling up your grow space horizontally instead of growing a christmas tree lol

im in the south island yea i want to try lst i think thats one of the best options and i plan on getting one of them pots and drilling holes around the base. i might even put a few hooks in the wall if i need to. i might lollipop but ill wait and see until after my first grow.
with the t5s running up the wall it should provide "some" extra light to the lower levels ill up a pic tomorrow of how i placed the t5s (im going with 3 since i broke 1)

Oh rite nice that should be good then with the side lighting :) Try get an Indica dominant or full Indica strain if you can as Sativa strains in closets can be a pain when they stretch for a first time grower. Sativas suit outdoor or greenhouse more.
Where are ya gonna vent your exhaust air to? Into the atic, outside or into another room?

atic i had planed to put it into a room but couldn't be bothered dealing with it after it left the carbon filter
i think its white widow (or maybe hindu kush) but surly white widow also i can get some mango? but yes im after a more indica strain would love a full indica

Sweet hindu kush is amazing bushy plant, easy to grow and wreaks too :) White widdow is also a nice strain to grow even though its a hybrid its very easy to grow like the legendary ak-47 these are all great strains cant go wrong!

Hey there was just thinking since you only wanted 1 plant or 2... A good way for you would be to top and LST the top branches, then instead of cutting off your lower branches (lollipopping) since you got the side lighting it would be good to supercrop them outwards (pinch and sway the branch side to side then bend it down). This way you can get a really girthy plant and nice side growth too :)

good idea i should read more on supercroping as i know nothing about it i also think a good reason for going to plants means i can trail different things on them to see what yeilds the best so i can get the pund a plant im aiming for would like to get 1 1/2 pounds per plant one day like i have seen done. (2 600w over 3 plants and lst )

supercropping looks a lot like lst only slightly different. Wouldnt lst do the same as supercropping without stressing the plant or making it heal its self? i probably just don't understand it properly as i only just watched a vid on youtube (so im not trying to be a bitch) but it seems your just breaking the breaking slightly so that it can grow outwards and get away from the shade of the higher branches whats the difference between this and lst (apart from using string lol)

:dunce:

Yea supercropping is preti much bending the stem over so kinda like the fibers inside the stem snap without actually snapping off the branch if that makes sense lol...
Apparently a supercropped branch when it turns back upward by itself it grows thicker than it would if just LSTed so it can support more weight as by snapping the stem it kinda tricks the plant into sending loads of "Auxin" hormones to that branch (tricks the plant into thinking that branch is the "top branch").
All in all it produces a larger/thicker stem for a lower branch that would normally be lanky. It wud probably be good for the type of grow you are doing but choose a method that works for you :)

As for yield I know for sure that indoors 600watters are very lumen to watt efficient and put out less heat than 1000s and I know it is possible to get like 2lbs+ per plant as I saw 4 600s over 3 plants that were FIMed (a kind of topping) and pruned alot throughout the grow (lower growth cut away aggressively), vegged for 8 weeks in 60 litre pots grown in coco and yield was over 6lbs dry. To achieve a yield this big indoors the main thing is space as the room these plants were in was 6 metres X 4 metres and those 3 plants filled the room from wall to wall and were up to the roof (8 feet tall).
A closet sized grow is pretty restricted due to space but I guess 8 Oz on 1 large plant would be considered a large yield in a closet your size.. Possibly done in a SCROG with a 400-600watt HPS. Just gotta use all the space you got to your advantage :)

Ouch thats very bad service! Did you get a receipt when you bought it? A friend of mine had bad experiences with SOG before as the person behind the counter did not know what they were talking about and sold him the wrong thing so he went back with it about 2 hours after buying it saying it wasn't what he needed and the same guy behind the counter claimed he did not know or remember serving my friend! He never printed a receipt for my friend either so no refund was given! This is very bad rep for a store that supports local growers to be doing this to their customers/growers! Anyways my friend complained to the manager or something and finally got a refund and he hasn't seen that guy behind the counter since so maybe he got the sack lol...
This same thing actually even happened to me at a SOG store but it was only a cheap item anyway, from now on my friend only shops at easygrow and I'm always more cautious when I shop at SOG. Always make sure you get a receipt and don't trust everything their employees say, do the research yourself and if you arent happy with it don't buy it :)
