Is this for a single plant?
There are many opinions when concerning CFLs but a good rule of thumb I use is 100-(Actual watts) of lighting per plant.

well, thats not much. i use a t-5. 8 -4' tubes. 6 are 6500k, 2 are 3000k. total=40,000 lumins. at 432watt draw. (54 each tube). i bought 3 4' shop lights, made a wood frame for em, and hung with chains. i put better bulbs in there, the 6500k from hardware. i have some cfls i used to use perimeter on my 600 watt, but removed when i moved up to 1000. the cfls. were 14.99 each at home depot. they put out 300 watts, and use like 68 watts. 2700k. i put these in the 9.95 cord/reflector clamp combo, and it was great. easy to move. lots of light, and you can put em close. one good thing about t-12. they are cool. plants can lay on em. not so with the t-5...hot. i have 3 clones in 4"pots, they are doing well, and reaching for the one small blue cfl i l have for em. god bud. and i have no room shame..add a shop light. like i have stated. they are so cheap, and work fairly well. in some ways, i prefer them to the t-5.

its for one seedling thats about 2 inches tall right now...and another about to sprout...the lights are the ones common for bathrooms which i have the plants hanging about 4 inches from the lights with a fan in the bathroom. i was just planning on keeping it this way for a week max until i can afford to get a whole setup going with multiple lights and a grow box in my closet. ive just been keeping it by the window sill for light and figured this might be a good idea so i have a 24/0 schedule...? idk, this is my first time but like i said its just for a week tops, just wanna make sure im not doing something completely stupid

Yeah, you're going to be fine mate. Just find the right balance between heat and distance when hanging your light so the little guys don't stretch. I keep my CFL seedling lamp at around 2 inches and never have a problem. 24/0 is a good lighting schedule, keep it consistent until your ready to switch to flowering. I'll be looking forward to more updates on the grow.

the general rule with cfl is to have atleat 50watts per sqaure foot. keep in mind though that the penitration power (how far away from the light bulb is still enough Photosynthetic actice radiation togrow the plant) might only be within 12in of bulb with these and you can only get it two inches from bulb.....that would mean you would have 10inches of useable growing space. therefore with both lights on you could probably get them as tall as 10in especially if you put them in the sun in the day time. if you give them less light than 50w per square foot the will stretch pretty dam hard. hope that helps. good luck man
