2.5" x 4.5" grow area, how many plants?

As stated in title, I am working with a 2.5" x 4.5" foot grow area, I am trying to get help in calculate how many plants I can successfully get in that space and what size pots I should be aiming for.

They will be under a 400w hps light.

Are you doing a SOG or trying to veg for a long time for taller plants?

Well, initially I will probably do a longer veg. I'm interested in considering SOG, however.

comfort=6, 2 rows of 3...................SOG umm, 12...3 rows of 4

If your goign to be under a 400 I'd probably go for a Sog I dont think your going to get good light penetration otherwise..Even with my 1000w hps the lower branches on taller plants were really shaded Im doing all sog now..

Wow how high above the plants is that 400 what reflector are you using and also quick question got any pics=)

there you go ......they are about 1-1/2 feet away and im using 400w hps from HTGsupply and loving it.......

i wud go for 6
