2 questions regarding harvest time ???

first should i flush with water for a few days before harvest ??? second should i leave the plant in total darkness for 48 hours before harvest ??? i like to keep things simple and these are simple things to do but are they beneificial ??? Back in the old days i used to hear that you should starve plant for water at the very end. not sure if that was true or not

It depends. If you have all-green plants at the finish it might benefit you to flush them with R/O. If they finished with a good fade and you havent fed them in awhile I wouldn't bother.

Im not sure if the 48 hours will provide any benefit but I recommend to give them at least 12 hours of lights out. The theory is that plants rebuild their terpenes during lights out. It does seem like they are stinkier in the morning so I buy that. If you have a separate area to keep them for 48 hours go for it. But if you are running perpetual I wouldn't let it stop you from starting your next batch.
