They look great man, they are about the same size as mine , you topped them all? I topped every plant but 1, just to see the difference.
Thanks, yes I topped every plant and four have been topped a second time. Mataro Blue will only get the one topping.

First is Mataro Blue then Humboldt Dream and the second topping of HD.

I topped my very early thinking the plants would have time to recover, this is my first time cropping, it’s funny you are doing the complete opposite! I cropped all but one plant. I am curious to see if it helps or not, a am also LST them now that I put them in the 45 gallon pots. I also worry about breaking the branches and destroying half my plant, but who know!
Haha, Ill get a picture of my mint chocolate chip when I can get a camera, I tied her too tight and then split the stem in the wind one day, I dont know how but she didnt even skip a beat, no slow down but the wound is awful, I taped it, and didnt realize it wasnt really closed up, so before I noticed the split ends healed and now closing the gap is like impossible without trying some surgery or something to scrape away the woody/hardened repaired "skin" But both sides of the split are the very first split nodes and somehow they're still alive, not a single leaf anywhere was yellowed, she didnt even slow down growth, I had to put the inner cage on in 2 pieces, If you look at the corner pot with the black electrical tape in my pictures... Hopefully the cage will take care of it but Im worried later on this season the rest will snap off in a mild wind.. I was going to throw a zip tie on there but not trying to forget about it and girdle it or anything... Oh well, People have done way worse high stress techniques to their stems... I've got an experimental plant I tried splitting with a knife vertically, hoping it would split open and become thicker...We'll see what happens!

I just picked some up in Nashua nh, it’s not cheap 26.00 per 1.5 bag. I’ve been told it’s very very good. I will not know until the end of the season
Dodge Grain in Salem, NH has great pricing on Coast of Maine Platinum Blend as well as Happy Frog and Ocean Forest.
Here are some Peyote Cookies and Sugar Black Rose from last summer in 50g pots of Platinum Blend / soil mix and MegaCrop nutrients.

This happened to me a couple years back. It ended up having a monster crop effect. The branches were huge. I taped it together and it was fine

Most of them I have already trained (lightly) I pulled the foam wire stuff off because I’m letting them relax before I transplant into the other 45 gallon bags. It’s funny when you toss a plant into a 45 gallon and it’s ready , within days it’s jumped in height. Soil is king.

Do you plan on just growing straight up like that or incorporating some LST as well?
I usually pull off 10-15 lbs with very little effort. My advice is to keep em smaller, the bigger the colas, the bigger the moisture trapped inside.. I usually put out 5 or 6 plants in early May that are 12" tall... Then another 5-6 in early June.

But the last few years I've been tossing small clones outside in late July and they produce 2 zips and rarely have any mold damage.. the buds are smaller and can dry out between rains. If you put out plants after the fourth of July and the veg for a month then bloom you should get some mold free plants.
I agree on that one I did 6 clones in July last year , they produced better than my monsters with much less work. I think a bunch of smaller plants can be easier to handle.
But I do love me some trees!!!

I put mine outside on Wednesday, but I have to admit I got super lazy with them. We get a ton of ticks on our property, so I absolutely hate spending too much time anywhere on the property that isn't mowed regularly, so I wound up planting them straight into the ground in a higher spot just on the edge of our wetlands. The soil was nice and moist, but far from "wet", and was black as tar, so I'm thinking they will do well there. This is what I planted...

I have a feeling I’m going to need to douse myself in deet when it comes time to harvest these plants. God I hate ticks.

Diatromaceus earth and organic neem oil are both great, organic pest control especially for ticks. When I used to gorilla grow in Florida I would scatter fuck tons of it around my plants and the surrounding areas. Spray the plants with the neem and water solution and reapply every few weeks. Good luck my guy be careful you don't want Lyme disease. They look healthy. I've also heard frogs work well too, but they would just hop away

We have a ton of frogs out there but the ticks are out of control this year due to the mild winter we had. I don't know why I didn't think of spreading DE around the base of the plants, but I'm going to do that after we get the rain we are supposed to get. I also have some neem oil so I'll give them a good spray with a neem solution one of these nights. Ticks just make my skin crawl. My wife has some horses and she's had to pick ticks off them throughout the entire winter this year.

Damn--you got a regular tick motel going there.

I get it, brother, we have 'em bad up here in Maine right now. And on top of that we got hit real bad in my town by the browntail moths--recently hatched cateripllars are just stripping the Red Oak bare. Pretty awful, especially as the caterpillars are all over the place. They haven't shown any interest in the cannabis leaves yet, at least as far as I can see, but it's a bummer to see the oak get hammered.

But ticks are awful, no question. Lime is pretty much endemic now up here. I keep a supply of Doxycycline on hand just in case I miss one of those bastards latched on to me for more than a few hours. 1 dose immediately supposedly will help your body fight off the spirochyte.

Yeah, I counted 12 of them between two plants yesterday. I haven’t seen any caterpillars, yet, So I hope those pricks don’t make their way down to MA!

Pics from a few days ago. Plants are starting to get lost in the background haha. I wound up super cropping the Ketama so she would bush up a bit. Super soil is working great so far, but man the bugs are bad this season. They're chewing up the FS x FC. They also ate all my eggplant seedlings and are hammering my green beans as well!20200602_175600.jpg
