Florida congressional candidate says opponents conspiring to kill her
A Florida congressional candidate has obtained a stalking injunction against one of her likely opponents in the race, claiming he conspired with two other potential candidates to kill her.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that Anna Paulina Luna, who is running in the Republican primary for the seat being vacated by Rep. Charlie Crist (D) as he seeks the governor's mansion, obtained a temporary injunction against William Braddock, who has previously stated his plans on running against her.

“I received information yesterday (at midnight) regarding a plan (with a timeline) to murder me made by William Braddock in an effort to prevent me from winning the election for FL-13,” Luna wrote in her petition for an injunction.

“I feel and fear that this is an orchestrated attempt on my life being organized and carried out by William Braddock and he claims he is working together with Ms. Makki and Mr. Tito,” she added.

“Ms. Luna has no comment at this time due to multiple ongoing law enforcement investigations of this matter,” a spokesperson for Luna told the Times. “Those investigations are based upon Mr. Braddock’s own threats and actions, and we are confident the facts will be public at the appropriate time.”

“This woman is off her rocker and she does not need to be representing anyone,” Braddock told the newspaper.

This guy's rebuttle to the Republican troll about the voting bill really is a great factcheck on it.
Of course throwing more campaign money to anyone is the right play for a voting bill. Totally counteracts the "dark" money in campaigns by matching 6:1 small donations. Federalized standards for voting for federal elections should be set by the Federal gov though like this bill tried to do. Maybe they compromise, but the campaign money addition will probably stay...

If the Republicans could get past needing to cheat (gerrymandering for example) to stay in power, it will be very nice.

But everything they have (over exaggeration sorry, but too many examples) been doing to strip people from the ability to very easily vote so that they can suppress 'Democratic' areas (because obvious troll of them saying that they are not racially targeting people, they are targeting them off of how they vote, which just happens to hurt minority communities because the Republicans are not legislating for them, at least not in the last half century.

The funding is important to get right, but I am not thinking that is going to be able to be tackled for at least the next 3 elections give or take, which is very scary.

I really hope that I am wrong, but I think that this insurrection that the Republicans have been covering up because they need their voters is obviously not going to get fixed until these people obstructing everything instead of doing the work we need them to are voted out of office in large enough quantities that they are forced to adapt better work habits.

We should praise our politicians for the bills they make, because they can't do better. What is a little more money into campaign coffers (because more money in elections is exactly something we need). I am sure that money couldn't be used elsewhere.... But the bill does so much more than just adding money to campaigns... wonder if it could've accomplished the same voting rights without that little snippet. Funding won't ever get tackled. It helps both sides get more campaign money, that is like asking them to drop their wages.

Id be good with them having to swear an oath to not lie while pursuing any public office.

I'd be good with setting term limits on all of them in order to change the political climate. If leadership never changes, how can we expect those below them to change? (The tensions pre-date Trump as President. So does the leadership.)

So did the Koch Bros.

I am not a term limits fan, if for nothing else to have lifetimes of knowledge of dealing with all the issues America faces is pretty cyclic, and the most experience the better results (Im thinking Pelosi and the job she is getting done as leader in the house), but I do understand that there is the opposite with McConnell having the lifetime of knowledge on using the system to stop as much progress as possible. It comes down to foreign relations for me mostly maybe though, which is why I would prefer experience and a track record that can be evaluated to know how they have reacted in the past with their vote.

Pelosi vs McConnell is part of the problem. They set the tone as much as anyone.

Pelosi has time and again shown that she is someone that can get things done, and stepped up every time that Trump and the Republicans dropped the ball (like NAFTA/China trade war nonsense that got us nothing for all the pain caused).

If you have some examples of what you think Pelosi did (other than trolls using her as a foil, I really have nothing that I found her do that is objectional) I am all for taking a look at.

Are you thinking no one else is capable of such feats and that both her and McConnell's rhetoric and tone towards each other is healthy for the tone of our politics? Or that only McConnell is at fault for the tone they set? I think they both play their parts. I wouldn't change anything right now given the weird stuff Republicans say today. We are all just along for the ride.

No, because that is silly.

'Both sides' troll?

Again, if you want me to see something that Pelosi has said that you think is questionable, feel free to show me it. But from the very little that I have seen from her, she is spot on. And as for McConnell, I wouldn't be confident that he has really said anything specific to Pelosi, outside of the general Democrat trolls that he does.

One party is actively trying to undo our democracy and instal a dictator, the Republicans and Trump, and one that has been trying to legislate to help 100% of our nation. I really don't know what kind of tone any Democrat could take that the rules allow them to towards one another that covers how infuriating it is to have someone lie to your face, know they know you know they are lying, then say 'but Pelosi'.

Or that only McConnell is at fault for the tone they set?
Yeah as the leader of the Republican party he sets the tone for his party. And he has allowed full on racist/xenophobic/religious zealotry/ and full on corruption, to be able to con the Fox/Oann/Breitbart/Hate Radio/evangelical/second amendment crowds to hate 'the libs'.

That has not occurred on the left outside of the con that the Russians pulled by having left-trolls to turn people who wouldn't vote for Trump into non-voters. It was brilliant. Make a bunch of 'left' spam clickbait on websites like 'the Hill' and make it seem like the left is unhinged. But it is all the same trolls working for the Republicans.

I think they both play their parts.
Yeah man, going to have to call bullshit on this.

If you have something on Pelosi that you think is legit, feel free to share it and I will check it out.

Unless you mean 'play their parts' as being trolled for decades then sure, Pelosi played her part by helping to lead the Democrats to being a totally representative party, the first in our nation, and I am pretty positive, the world.
I wouldn't change anything right now given the weird stuff Republicans say today. We are all just along for the ride.
This I am in complete agreement with you on. It is something I never expected to see.

Department of Justice sues Georgia over voting law
"Today, the Department of Justice is suing the state of Georgia," Garland said. “Our complaint alleges that recent changes to Georgia's election laws were enacted with the purpose of denying or abridging the right of Black Georgians to vote on account of their race or color, in violation of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.”

The Georgia law, S.B. 202, passed in March along party lines in the span of just a few hours, imposes restrictions that voting rights groups say will fall most heavily on minorities: It sets new voter ID requirements for absentee ballots, limits drop boxes and even bars passing out food and water to those waiting in line to vote.

The suit is the first from the Justice Department to challenge an influx of state laws they say will limit access to the ballot, with the case largely built on claims the Georgia law was passed with a racial discriminatory intent.

In a speech earlier this month, Garland pointed to 14 “new laws that make it harder to vote,” vowing to scrutinize “current laws and practices in order to determine whether they discriminate against Black voters and other voters of color.”

“This lawsuit is born out of the lies and misinformation the Biden administration has pushed against Georgia’s Election Integrity Act from the start,” Kemp said in a statement, calling the suit part of a "far-left agenda."

Lindsey has one of the most punchable faces I've ever seen.

Everytime he opens his spoiled brat toned mouth I have an extreme urge to slap the fuck outta him.

When the time comes for Nancy to retire I would love to see her kick him right in his miniature gonads
