whats the benifit of the 24 of darkness? my lights are off till tomorrw when i harvest...so i was jus curious.

beacause the nutes and water are stored in roots at night and in plant at day. therfor harvesting with 24 hrs darkness will give you the least harshes taste.

People say resin production is highest in the morning before lights come on, so the extra dark period is trying to exploit that, i dont know how much of a difference it really makes

24 hours of light will start to degrade the THC heads on your trichomes. And I have never heard of anyone giving their plants 24 hours of light before harvest, its actually the complete opposite, its 24 hours of darkness. But really, harvest when you are ready, and dry in a cool dark place.

the amount of thc is highest at night b4 the lights come on, light degrades thc so giving 24 hours of dark increases the potency of the plant right b4 you chop them down

okay so the last time this subject got brought up someone said dr.brucebugbee or something aka the owner of apogee said that terpenes aren't created at night they're created during the day! im not sure if this is true but someone said that you should harvest around 12pm because terpenes are created during the day! honestly i give my plants 12 hours of dark before harvest but im burly on my second grow so what do i know lol.

Light is plant food, darkness is what photoperiod plants use to know when its time to flower or when winter is coming.

Imo, if you grow good weed, 48 hours of darkness isn't going to matter, and if you grow bad weed, 48 hours of darkness isn't going to matter.

Just grow good weed and harvest whenever is convenient, unless you've got PAR, dli, and all the other variables perfected in a replicatable manner, then maybe fucking around with dark harvests will make a measurable difference.

The only advantage of 24 hours darkness is that the terpene levels are higher. Doesn't affect THC content. Terpene are volitalized in light. Ever notice that the smell in the tent is stronger in the mornings?

1 or 2 days of anything at the end is not going to make much difference in anything. Random light intervals the entire time. Keeps them ready for whatever. No, moonlight is what plants need. Why isn't anyone talking about moonlight lamps?

You can use moon lamps, or a heater, to raise the night temps. Positive differentiation to make plants stretch, and negative differentiation to make shorter node spacing. I was considering moon lamps, until I remembered that's its just a small space heater

I suppose you could blast green during the night cycle. There is a thread on here that the guy used red LEDs during night to speed flowering
