For you 250 users Hey I have this dressor about 3'l 18"w 3.5'w. I want to throw a 250 watter in here and i need to know the smallest about of cfm i can have, with buds inches away from my cool tube. I want to keep it small as possible to keep it quiet as possible. Any experience to tell me whats up?

Any tips appreciated muchbongsmilie:peace:

I use a 250w hps in an area of 20inX31inX5ft tall. I have a cooltube on the light and have a fan venting the light. I have 6in inline fan in the roof pulling the heat out and venting to the outside. I was able to get away with using a passive intake. And i am still only able to get my light as close as 12 inches from the tops of the plants. Any closer and the leaves get burned. So just watch how close you can put the light to the plants. My temps in my room with lights on is around 79f and 69f with lights off. Good luck

Oh yea, you can probably get away with one of the 6in inline fans that i got from a local heating and AC supply store. It is rated for like 250cfm. And it only cost like 30$.

Thanks for the input man. What kind of fan do you have hooked up to the cool tube?
Where did you get that bitch for 30 bucks?

The cool tube is run off of a pc fan. I think it is rated at like 80cfm. It is small but it does the job. The 6inch inline fan was only like 30$. You can get them at like Home Depot or any of your local heating and air conditioning store. Here is a pic of my cool tube that i built. I also have a pc fan down under the cooltube blowing up towards the light so more heat is pushed up toward the exhaust fan. Here is a couple pics of the cooltube and the exhaust fan and the plants in the room.

nice little set up. If i were you id hook that blower fan up to that cool tube so you could get that fucker as close as possible for maximum intensity. 30? Nice. How loud is that thing?

I have one and they are fairly quite, there is a slight hum but a 7 inch fan from walmart makes more noise. Actually a cheap fan from walmart seems to move a lot more air than the 250cfm fan IMO. I have the cheap fan from walmart hooked up for intake thru a 6 inch tube and it provides more than an adequate supply of fresh air for my small setup.

Yea, it is not really that hard to get the proper ventilation in a setup with a 250w hps. I don't think that it would be that easy with one of the 400w lights. But i have no experience with any other light than the one that i am using right now. Anyway good luck with it and i hope all turns out perfect for ya.

Even with my cooltube on my 250w hps light. The closest i can get it to the top of the plants is like 8 to 10 inches. The cooltube is cool to the touch but you still get warmth from the light. I am going to put the 6in inline fan that i have now to a test. I just got me another 250w hps light and i am doubling my sqft up to around 10sqft. I will have both lights in a cooltube and the exhaust will be the 6in inline fan with a passive intake. I should have it up and running in about a week. The new room will be like 24inX65in. So i am going to try a sog and harvest every month. I hope you get your 250w setup going. I am really impressed at how well my 5 plants are doing with the 250w.

Wait... cool to the touch? with a computer fan? Thats insane and it gives me a gigidy feeling, glad to hear it, so why keep it so far up? For coverage? Yeah i have the same plan in the future, doubling up, you should get more than double with the overlaping affect of two lights. Yeah id love to hear how that experiment goes, and can i see a close up pic of your buds? what kind of plants?

First off even with a cooltube you can't put them right next to the tops like a cfl bulb. Yes the cooltube really is cool to the touch but there is also UV rays. So if you hold your hand under the light you can feel it and it is enough to hurt the plants. I have also tried my light without the cooltube and i could not get the light anywhere close to the way i can with the cooltube. If you understand what i am trying to say. The plants that i have are one Northern Lights and four AK47. They are already showing alot of trichs and they are only like 24 days under 12/12 lighting.

Nice choices. Ive seen grows though with plants growing around 1000w cooltubes, so i imagine it would be alright. got any close up pics?

This is my first grow with the 250w hps. My last grow was done under cfls. My plants have only been under 12/12 lighting for like 24 days. Here is a couple close ups of a few of the buds. You can see how the trichs are forming.
