i gotta say looking good for only 1 cfl..yea u got atleast 3 more weeks til harvest mabe 4..but not bad at all..wen u get some funds get u a hps..i was just on ebay..say 1 1000w hps kit for $211 free shipping!!or if thats too much wattage they have smaller..for even cheaper!at least grab a 400w..u will not regret it!good luck!

cheers man...1000w would be way too much haha im only really looking to grow 1 maybe 2 plants at a time...also ive got to worry about the electricity bills im currently living with my dad and im a student so id have to pay my dad for extra electric...which isnt possible right now :/ how much is a 250w hps bulb to run a month say on a 18/4 cycle?

ive just had a look around and ive found a t5 light that looks spot on for what i need now just to sort out some money http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LIGHTWAVE-T5-TWIN-PROPAGATION-GROW-LIGHT-HYDROPONICS-/230590433424?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Garden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item35b042c890#ht_2169wt_1139 should be ok for 1-2 plants right?
it will work!cheap to run also..for ur needs and restrictions it will be good..but hps is better..but sometimes u have to do wat u can afford!happy growing!

um... i'd say 6 weeks...... looks like there two weeks into 12/12 with one of flower.

veg under the cfl, you can get a 150 hps for $90, perfect for one plant.

to figure out your light bill you need to add ALL the charges on your bill, the will mostly be fractions of a cent. my last bill i was paying 11cents pre kilowatt hour.

here is what i would do to figure out how much a 150 watt hps uses (a 150watt light really uses 165 watts) for flower, 12 hours a day:

12hours x 165watts = 1980 divided by 1000 = 1.98kwh x $0.11 = $0.2178 x 30 days = $6.534

easy cheesy use it to figure out the cost of any size light.... here's these:

96 watt light = 104 watts
108 watt light = 117 watts
150 watt light = 165 watts
216 watt light = 234 watts
250 watt light = 275 watts
400 watt light = 460 watts
432 watt light = 468 watts
600 watt light = 680 watts
1000 watt light = 1100 watts

you'll wish you got it sooner, the light will pay for itself your 1st grow.

yeah around 2- 3 weeks in now...havent kept count to be honest the first week i didnt have a timer so now its a hell of a lot easyer...i wonder if a 150w light will be ok in that timer? :/ i dont know :L anyway im in england mate so the 11cents thing means nothing to me i dont know what the exchange rates are now...plus electricity charges differ dont they?...ill have to have a serious think..

well 11 cents is 11% of one dollar, either way what ever it is in pounds it's still the same formula to get your total cost just replace the dollar sign with a pounds sign for refference:
hours x watts divided by 1000 x cost you pay per kilowatt hour x amount of days in billing cycle
to figure out how much you owe your dad, look at the electric bill each month, cuz yes, the cost change.
it will be totally fine on your timer 150watts isn't that much.
