2x4 lighting?

Shopping out a 2x4 (well 2 really one for veg one for flower, but ive got the veg stuff picked out already) and I’m torn between a few lights. Leaning heavily towards the grow light science 300 but also looking at the chilLed tech 330x2, the crecer pantherx mini 2, and the mars hydro sp3000.
A part of me looks at the fancier shit like damn those are neat but are they that much better than something with the same specs on paper just because of some spectrum differences(ngl light science go’s over my head a bit)

I'm running a 600w hps in a 4x4 rn and really like the idea of being able to pull similar yields out of half the space with half the power.

General advice
Maybe add some info:
Budget, height of tent, hot or cold climate and cooling method(vented sealed with ac etc)

It's hard to double your (absolute) yield per square foot I don't know anyone who did that with led conversion unless your HID game is a bit off. But yeah you can double or triple g/w depending on where you started out.

Also maybe some links for those lights

Budgets around 500(for the light), tents standard 6.5ft. I have a 15k btu window ac in the tent room and central heating for our fairly mild winters. Lights are all here:

Obviously I expect a little bit of a learning curve switching from hid but that's not a huge deal lol.

You should never get the same or even close to the same amount of product from a 2x4 vs a 4x4.

Going led just makes your electrical bill less.

Half the space and half power will not produce more.

I pull 1-2lbs out a 4x4 so half that in a 2x4 is fine, I'm so done with these electric bills.

The SP3000 is a great light for a 4x2. Cocoforcannabis has a review of the light and the PAR map is outstanding. The only negative is that it requires more distance than array style lights. ~19" was optimal IIRC.
Hell yeah, as an owner of two different TS lights, i shoulda got a couple SP's, those suckers are intense, and honestly just a nice looking fixture.

For me that's small enough for a DIY project. Than again I bought a bunch of QB boards from HLH before they had all these fancy stripped LED fixtures. I'm even still running my DIY COB fixture. Late doing this but just now building a strip of reds for my tent, might do the far red thing as well.

Thought about doing the diy thing, but I'd rather not screw it up and be out a couple hundred dollars.

It's super easy imo & I'm not even handy like that. With my QB120 boards I don't even use heatsinks. Just zip tied them to some metal that used for shelving racks & wire them up which is easy as well. Built my 5 light COB fixture in under an hour. I even made a veg fixture with the lil XP Cree leds

I think it seems intimidating bc of all the fancy light fixtures available but it's not hard to DIY it & gives you the knowledge to build more fixtures if needed rather than splurging on another light. For instance I set up a 2x2 tent to make seeds in & have everything needed already. Or come winter time when I use the extra boards for side lighting in the tent.

Is there any guides over on here for parts and assembly, i allready have 2 x 600 watt hid and hgl 350r which is a beast but i paid £450 for this which is pretty pricey so i’m looking for a self build for a 4x4 tent be happy with 400/500watts.
