i dont recomend feeding anything for a while. if the pant is nice and green then it dosent need any suplimented food.
Bang on,
Who ever said feed them after two weeks is a tit , its normally longer and different per plant.
Too much bad advice here.
Too many chefs spoil the broth,
A good forum user can sift through the junk.

well some soils require feed after the first week. this is not the case with him. he has "feeds up to 6 months" soil. He was over watering and using suplimental nutrients at the begining of his thread so he was releasing extra fertilizers into the soil by watering plas adding them. Im trying to get him on the right track with watering right now and suggesting to him to feed just is not a necessary action he needs to take. the soil he is using is rich enough in fertilizers to get him through vegatative stage, less is more......

this is the problem you run into using synthetic nutrients and soil with synthetic nutrients in it. the Nitrogen in these nutes is avaialble imidiatly and its in the form of amonium...somethingorother which if you have ever dealt with amonia straight out the bottle it will burn soft tissues. its usually super high concentrated because your supposed to mik like 1 part water soluble fertilizer to every 100 parts water.

this is the main reason i went organic, once you get the hang of ammending your soil and keeping a good soil biology up you dont have to worry about that shit but for right now im trying to get him to understand the basics.

baby steps :) its not hard but alot of people "love" thier plants to death....literally.

I agree with all that except the first part relating to seedlings ,
They just dont need anything for 3-4 weeks normally , clones are different i agree ,but even then only micro amounts are needed.
I think a lot of new growers just dont realise the strength of some of the products used,
A small plant say before node 4, is just that, a small plant, it can't take it,
The amount of ppl stunting growth and overwatering is incredible.
Why can't ppl stick em in the earth and feed them water when slightly droppy and leave them alone,
They act like its the first plant they ever saw grow,
Its really not difficult is it ?
I just . . . . , . . **facepalm**

yeah i guess i should re phrase the first part and say some soiless medium (such as hempy or pro mix, cocoa and other hydroponic style grow mediums) need minimal amounts of food after the first week, but then again they could probabally go till week 2. in a soiless medium i wouldnt wait longer than 2 weeks to introduce a low ppm solution.

Lol...you're right, my first plant i killed with MG 6 month...i was lovin her too much, but found out too late that the MG was too hot. In flower it may work nicely, but for seedlings....big no no

yeah i think most of us have done that. i know i have. MG soil is fine for seedlings but the user needs to realize how nutrients are released and make sure they are not overwatering, releasing too much nutes. I will admit that theres nothing wrong with MG soil. I absolutly hate the shit but it will grow pot if the user does his homework right. IT IS NOT a grab and go soil for beginers. its more for advanced growers. that being said i deem it pretty much useless because most advanced growers are either organic soil or hydro. not all but most.

I only wish i could go hydro or introduce at least a drip feed res system,
I just can't do it where my space is , this is my constant annoyance,
Sat on a bus on way to hospital largein it up on riu,
I hope my nurse is fit and i can grab a fistfull from behind ha ha

leaky buckets above office equipment is generally not good.

As a new grower personally I feel like this is the hardest concept to grasp. Nutrient's are hella lot harder then light fixing, fanning and all that. nutrients are probably the hardest thing to get down. in my opinion at least.

I've got some great news too. Babygirl lefty woke up this morning with a smile on her face.
MAYBE it's because i sat down and interacted with her face-to-leaf for a good 20 minutes last night :)
Righty gained a very noticeable grow overnight. I think maybe 1-2''.

I was able to stop by walmart-canadiantire today and picked up some rooting gel and a very miniature fan.
as it's cloning time soon, I want to be 100% prepared for this procedure.
I've got this great thread as my guild line to cloning.

I just need to know if normal water is okay for them.
If it's conceptional to use regular soil (nute. enhanced im guessing) instead of root cubes too. grow them just like i would a new plant.
Ive got 2 45W cfl's for em.

its not hard man just dont give em any additional nutes they dont need them. they will do better without trust me on this i have grown plants with less

fuck it, im grabbing root cubes. those things are bawss. easy to transplant.
is it cool if i supply only distilled water to the plant up until flowering?
only nutrients ill use are the ones in the soil during transplants. is that arrite?

and where would i place the root cubes? on a metal tray?

Not trying to offend, but you really need to do some reading in the newbie section. There are step by step instructions.

Why not a solo cup and either transplant into 1 or 3 gallon container. I did cup > 1 gallon smart pot > 5 gallon smart pot. No problems and very little stress (more so cause I had to re wet the soil a bit on the 1 gallon pots to keep dirt in tact) but they bounced back the next day (could not even tell there was a transplant).

When you buy root riot cubes , they come in plastic tray holders,
You need something to put their water in so they won't dry out, something like a cloner lid or seed tray.
