3 5 or 7 gallon pots?

Ok so I just ordered the full line of fox farm nutrients for my next grow im planning growing some og kush in some pro-mix with 45% perlite in 3 5 or 7 gallon grow buckets under 2 air cooled 1000 watt hps my question is how many plants and what size pot should i use to get max yield and bigg buds my grow area is about 4 by 8ft originaly i had planned on doing 24 plants in 3 gallon pots now im thinking about doing 8 plants in 7 gallon pots wich is a better setup?

Lol, I am growing og kush in pro mix. I am under a 600 to flower and a 400 to veg. I grow in seven gallon pots and accorfing to sub I should minimum hit the 4 ounce and like him grab me 8 ounces. Maybe that is a ten gallon pot because my yeild was nothing. Lol, I got some retooling, but this was my first soil grow.

If I were you and plant numbers dont matter I would go the more and smaller plants. That is always a better harvest.

I am staying legal numbers so I cant talk but I have some extaneuating circumstances , so I do a four pot perpetual in seven - ten gallons. I am going ten gallon grow bags next.


sog as much as you can. More colas, les to go wrong. Like if one plant gets sick then the others are ok.

More plants, smaller pots. Always go with as many plants as you deem appropriate. Then add a bunch more, because males are a hassle, and hermies happen too. Then there's just the 'odd' genetic variety, they'll die one way or another.

I promote the 3x rule. Go for 3x what you want to end up with(assuming from seed).

i would go with the big pots with fewer plants, you wont turn the crop over as much due to increased veg time but not by much, plus it is easier to take care of say 12 plants than it is 30 and if your in a state that has med laws then its the way to go

well there you have it. Like whos the best football team. We know there are 2 camps. Try both. Id say if your just starting go for many smaller so when you screw up you can save some plants. You don't want to have a couple and one or both go bad and have lost/no results. Have a mother started in the mean time from your best plant and clone...Then your off to the races....gl
