3 Emerald Mountain Legacy Royal Wedding F4 and a Garlic Cookies

I soaked 4 Royal Wedding F4 seeds from Emerald Mountain Legacy in a glass of water in a cupboard on Thursday, April 6th. On Saturday the 8th I planted them. One seed didn't make it so I started one feminized Garlic Cookies from 34 Street Seed Co., two days behind the others.

They were started in a mix of Promix HP, worm castings, perlite and Gaia Green 4-4-4 that has been sitting for a month or two.

I have them in a 4'x4'x6.5' tent with a small humidifier, a small heater, a 480W LED, a few clip fans and a 4" AC Infinity inline fan.
I have the light at 100% and about 36" from the seedlings, 24/7 so far.
The temp is pretty steady at 78° and the humidity is 60-64%.

day 19....

Royal Wedding #1 and #2 up-potted into 10 gal SIP containers because they were of similar height.

Royal Wedding #3 was up-potted to a #1 pot. I'm thinking of putting this one outside, possibly.

Garlic Cookies was up-potted into a 3 gal SIP container.

All watered in and topped with rice hulls.

Topping up the reservoirs by hand kills my back, so I'm automatically filling them from an 8 gallon reservoir, on racking next to my tent, using a float valve in a control box and good old gravity.
I still need to switch out the red tub for a black one of similar size with a lid.

Was a busy day.

I constructed the SIPs last June and they seem to work great. Today is the first time I've tried the float valve and the 3 gal bucket SIP. Pretty simple to build everything.
I used Black Swallow KIS mix in them last run. This time I'm trying out a living soil from Dark Earth Living Soil... see how it goes.
I do top dress. I just move the rice hulls to one side, top dress, then move rice hulls to the other side and top dress again.

Is there a build you followed for you living soil SIP? What size tubs did you use?

I am doing the same thing in the next few months and I really like the set up, although I'll probably skip the float valve and put a third SiP in the tent.

Good day!
I got the basics from the SIP thread... https://www.rollitup.org/t/sip-thread-sub-irrigated-planter.904886/
I used Home Depot storage bins... 45L (10ish gallons)
I used (4) 5" net pots turned upside down for corner supports and 1 net pot for the wick. This gives me almost a 2 gallon reservoir with about 3/4" air gap between the bottom of the upper tub and water.
I cut an appropriate sized hole in one corner of the upper tub for the pvc fill tube and another hole big enough to catch the lip of the net pot. I then drilled 1/4" holes in a grid along the bottom of the upper tub and zip tie the wick pot to the tub using a hole on each side. Lastly, I drilled a 1/2" oblong hole in the side of the reservoir tub for overflow... measure that one three or four times first. lol
Fill the reservoir, pack the wick, fill the tub with soil.
Hope this is what you asked. lol
