(3)Mars TS1000 in a 2x4x5 tent?

Quick question .

I am running 3 knock off TS1000's (160w from wall per light = 480w total at 100%) in a 2x4x5 tent with 18 on 6 off . It has 4 autos in 3 gallon fabric pots. Is that light overkill ?. I have looked for others using a similar setup but have not found anyone using 3 ts's ,but it seems people are using/selling similiar led lights with +400w wall power in 1 single light

Thoughts?

Thatll be great coverage.
150w per light x 3 = 450 watts, bit too much for a 2ft x 4ft - 56 watts per sq ft.
You have dimming so utilise it. Maybe dim to 100 watts per light, ~ 37 watts per sq ft, save yer self a few bob lol
Or hang them high at full blast.

~ 20" away ppfd would be around 600.
600 ppfd x 18 hours = DLI of 38

Hope that helps some.

That does sound like too much to run at 100% x3. I’d hang all 3 at max hanging height with the 2 end lights dim to 75% and the center light at 50% to blend in and not create too hot of a zone in the center. If you have a light meter, that will help even things out as far as even intensity across the board.

Great price open box or not but keep in mind its 150watts not 160 x 3
Which seems like a lot for that space

These run max 160w according to the drivers manufacture labels. They are not from Mars (lol) but if they are exact replicas if you put them side by side..other then the 10w difference in drivers

How come nobody else is doing this? I can't be the first person lol ????

I'm guessing because it seems to be too much light for the area. It looks like you could get away with just 2 of them and save the money on wattage and use the 3rd elsewhere and start some seedlings or early veg.

I have 2 of these exact lights in a 3x3 tent and they seem to be doing pretty good.

I'm sure there are lots of people with multiple lights in their grow tents/areas.. I'm one of them.
I've always been an advocate for wall to wall lighting with as even ppfd as possible.
If you only have the one grow area put them all in, why not?
But you are r gonna have to dim them down.
