3 Plant CFL

• looks good roots. I was gunna do a 3 day switch to 12/12 and then jsut completely forgot, so theyve been on 12/12 for the past week. im in the middle of building a small 2*1*3 veg cab and then im buying a 2*4*6 tent also for flowering. my temps go up and down but are usually around 84 day with door open and 88 with door closed. thats why im just doing a tent to eliminate all the problems. and get a potential better yield.
  
  i do know a difference in the bulbs, that the 2700k run hotter than the 6500k its weird but thats what ive noticed. im trying to get this grow done within the next 2 months. becauyse my lease is up,, and then i will get my tent and cab set up and start really growing. i am also buying a 600 watt mh/hps ballast with both bulbs a 4" inline 400cb fan with carbon filter for $175.00 what a steal its been used only one grow.

Hey DO.. You don't know off hand if 2700K lights are truly cooler than a 6500K light? You think there will be a measurable temp change going from one to the other or is the temp the same?
Anyway, were right on schedule budski. I think my girls are doing just fine. I was just looking at the CFL tutorial and it says having the lights to close would result in a squat plant. WTF. It makes a little sense cause the lights not getting in there as well but I've worked hard to keep them tight. I pruned off some fan leaves a couple of weeks ago and they did not care. I never purposely defoliated a plant in my life but again WTF. Just messing around aren't we.

Gonna upgrade the lights after I start next years outdoor chit in April. Thats what the damm box was for anyway. For under $200.00 I can get a well reviewed 400 watt with two bulbs or a 600 watt for a few bucks more. I just don't have enough room as it stands. Four plants in a 4x2x2 ft box is tight when you have to add fans, heaters, seedling mats, and so on and it is a PIA to work in there. Less than 2ft by 2ft of floor space sucks and I'm sick of sticking my fingers in pc fans. Don't hurt but scares the crap out of me everytime.

I was gonna switch to 12/12 today but the kids are home and my wife thinks they don't know what I'm up to and they are 18 and 20 YO. I think the ball and chain forgets that we were doing lines and getting laid at those same ages. Go figure....wtf.

Been trying to find my pile of pictures from 1982,1983, and 1984 when I had some really smoking outdoor grows. I want to scan them. There was a magazine published back then by High Times called "Sensimilla Tips" I think??? It was on newspaper print and had not one colored pic but it was all I had. Dang those were good years. I bought my seeds from the "Super Sativa Seed Club". I doubt they even exist today but the NL, Skunk, Hash plant and even Swazi seeds could be bought. You sure did not have the selection we have today and certainly not feminized or medicinal varieties. Even 30 years later things are more the same than different though. It's just an easy to grow weed all things considered.


I wish my temps would settle down to about 78 degrees all the time. wtf!!! So your a week into flowering? Is anything happening yet? Are they stretching out at all or showing their personals??

haha your kids have to know whats up, but hey they can do what your doing at your age. there is nothing wrong with a natural plant.
yea i had one show signs of male so i got him out the ine in the white bucket is showings small signs of female and the other is showing alot of growth in between nodes and sprouted up , so im thinking its a girl, im in need of more lights ppretty soon, but temps are high, im gunna have to design something to work. and i would go with a 600 watt, just for future expansion. go with a 6 inch inline with a air cooled 600 watt hps/ mh and a carbon filter, you should be good if the exaust goes into an attic or outside. im planning on doing the 600 in a 4 x 2 x 5 tent and should have room for the inline aircooled reflector for exaust and a 4inch inline intake fan. and then a small tower fan inside. but that is for flower, my veg will be pure cfls tos ave on electirc costs. i will never not go with cfl

on yours, do you plan on doing more lst? i wouldnt, id go for a scrog nw at this poiint, youd be alot happier.

No shit DO!! They know. They have seen me with smoke coming out of my hair and have seen my pipes laying around when I was careless. Hell, If they asked I would tell them.

I have a full basement so I can do what I want with when I have the money and I'm never selling this house as I have planted stuff outside that won't even bloom for years. I'm stuck here so I'm gonna build a 10x12 foot room downstairs. I just need the cake and off I go. Going to vent right out under the back porch and hope to put a lot of thought into the rooms design. We will see. State may even be changing it's med marijuana laws next time at the polls so might even be able to do it without any concerns. My dr. will hook me up. Hell he dishes out the percs like a street dealer. It sure would be sweet. That being said, I think cfl's are a great way to learn and grow. I've never harvested an indoor crop but I sure see some purdy cfl grows on the forum. I've really been surprized at how healthy the plants are under those lights. They love it. Nice rich green plants enjoying life.

I'm done pinning/lsting but the buckets are predrilled for string to tie shit back with if I need to. These things are trained like a dog on a leash.

Does a scrog require a permanent screen of some sort attached to the pot/bucket? I would try it but I'm not sure I could configure it at this point. Just don't know how I would attach what and I'm screwed for space. Maybe I will try to do sumpin on one plant to further my education.Not sure it will make much difference at this point. These girls are as low as you can go. lol

It hurts to think about it but I MAY sacrifice one of my four beauties for more room to work with. Not sure I can man up enough to do it but I'm thinking about it. How long you figure we got DO3?

I went on vacation for three days, i left the water to my roomate, and they all showed signs of sex when i came back. And.............. 2 males out of the three. One question though, i had a plant that was fimmed and was two weeks old, ive read around about if you try to start flowering that early it will turn male. I just wanted to try because i wasnt really worried about it. mine came out male, has anyone had any females with doing this.

Yes contrary to some beliefs there is not a damn thing wrong with using CFL's, juts be sure and have plenty.

It's a long road DO3 and I'm glad I started with femmed seeds. We will get something but I'm sure your thinking about "upgrading" your set-up just like I am. I know I'm gonna go bigger and better. I mean wtf.. if you have to wait this long you may as well go as big as you can set-up wise. I could have a 400 watt light cooking for what I've put into this a buck at a time. It's not so much the money as the invested time and the first week of November was a long time ago. Good fun these CFL's and they sure make shit grow but....

Your girl looks REAL green. It looks like a nitrogen burn but your not fertilizing and it doesn't look light burned so I doubt too much light is the cause either. I'm surprized someone doesn't know...

I think I may have lost DO3... The last sighting of his plant showed him down to one female and she looked a bit TOO green. A sure sign of nute burn before the burn. (sigh) I had a lot of hope for you DO3 and I was hoping your grow would grow.. Don't forget that if at first you don't succeed buy a good 400 watt HID set-up. I have five weeks or so for things to go down the shitter as well DO...

Oh NO!!! LOL about the HID set-up! I totally feel ya....

You can, have too much light....but not usually the case....heat stress from the lights is much more common on that note... If you are not running a sodium or a MH.... Those cfls do get hot man. I cannot recall if you stated what soil you started with....that can have a huge impact on the plant down the road. Just a few thoughts...not saying im right lol

Note....emerg blankets for your cfls. Cheap and easy.....like mcdonalds.

DO3 and I started our grows at the same time. I paid for femmed seeds and he went with good bag seed. I think he got one female out of the bunch and I figure that since i have not heard otherwise it did not make it. I did have the advantage because i used my own soil. That stuff is better than a commercial soil could eve hope to be. I may be having some minor problems but they are not soil related. Purchased soil is for those without the space to make their own. Hopefully I get through my own little cfl grow with enough good herb so that my faith in my own soil is not spoiled. Time alone will tell the story. Gez i love my dirt. It doesn't just happen, you have to grow/make it. COMPOST RULES (I HOPE). I hope you have germinated more seed DO3 and trying to climb that mountain again.
