3 sun leafs and 3 top leafs on sprouting??

Has anyone seen this before? 3 "baby" "sun" leaves on a sprout? I havent ever seen this, all I know is its growing alot faster than the other two. All 3 broke ground this morning.
Any one have any idea what this means or anything about it in general. Share your thoughts even.

yeah ive seen it before, its a strain/genetic thing. It's a good "mutation" though, every new node will have 3 sets of leaves and 3 branches instead of 2, more leaves/branches = more buds

Thats what Im hoping! Figure it can only help bring energy to the plant, right? If so, I hope it ends up being a female cuz I will definitely clone it.

Thanks Majek and Nelly, I was thinking the same things myself, but wanted to hear it from others who have came across this type of thing. Now just cross my fingers and hope its female. I wonder if that is a trait that is able to continue thru cloning. What do you think?

I definitely will! I was like, "wtf" when I saw it, 3 sun leaves and 3 top leaves. Sweet tho, it will be fun growing that sucker!

yeah the trait can be cloned, I had a mutant with 3 sets of leaves once but it started out with 2, the trait didn't show until about 3 weeks old.

when I grew shrooms years back, I loved "good" mutations, get weird shapes, dual caps etc etc. Hell if I was you try breeding it and caring over that mutation. Dunno if its possible but with genetics anything is almost possible. Cool Beans nonetheless!

just be aware that most plants with odd mutations turn out male or hermie, but this is not exactly a mutation. I think the proper term is tetraploid, most mj plants are biploid. any idea on the strain? Master Kush is one of the strains that carries this trait but not every plant has it.

It was bagseed, I ended up with 5 seeds out of an ounce. Was told it was Kush, so you have just helped me believe that it may be!
Really hope it isnt a male, I can deal with a hermie, cut its balls off right away!

Here is what Ive found out so far...

Having a triploid plant is actually rather beneficial because the extra set of chromosomes causes cells to become larger in response to the mutation (autopolyploidy). Because of this flowers and fruits of plants become larger in size, meaning if you have a triploid plant on your hands you are rather lucky because the resin glands on the flowers will be larger, as will the flower itself.

Having leaves in threes. (I have)

Having three leaflets. (I have)

trifurcate
With three branches arising from the same spot. (Should happen)

triploid
Having three sets of chromosomes. (Should happen as well)
