Can't help with soil questions but looks good so far, keep up what you are doing. As for the sex, from the 5th pic, can't tell yet.

Should you switch to 12/12? The plants are ready, they can be switched at any time. The question is are you ready?

Meaning would you be happy with the size of the grow if the plant grew twice to three times it's size right now? Or do you think you have space and can wait a little until the plant gets a little bigger?

What are your goals for your first grow?

Cheers

Very nice looking young plants ,
I would not change a thing , your soil has nutes for the veg stage and beyond another month,
As SiliconeBud said , the plants can go 12/12 now , it depends on your space , rule of thumb is twice to 3 times they will gain in height, depending on light source,
There are ways of keeping your plants shorter but that requires a bit more veg time,
very nice though , good stuff.

cheers clonex you mention that there are ways of keeping them shorter, any chance you can fix me up with the info on that as i think if they are going to go 2-3 times bigger im not going to have room thanks again

yeah sure,
click on my link below in my signature ,
i use plastic mesh from my garden centre strapped to the pots with cable ties,
look at my pictures, i mainly do it to keep side branches tucked in giving me more space to put more plants side by side, so they are directed upward,
if you do the same but dont cut yours as high and then attach a piece across the top.
as the plant grows toward the mesh, you can push it back down with no ill effect. The lower branches will grow more and also it will help support your plant and buds.
its actually called scrog (screen of green) i just changed it to individual pots instead of one big screen to suit my needs.
i will post pictures later as i am on my mobile right now.
some ppl also top their plants which also works but would require more veg time.
i dont agree with cutting off my plants so for me my way is better.
hope that make sense, zoom in on my photos.

up to you umbre , i use both mh and hps in my bloom room.
hps does give off more lumens , but i have multiple lights , so maybe hps would be better for you in bloom.
dont be afraid to push or even bend branches down and let the plant fill up the space under the mesh before you flower, it will still go on for a week even when you switch.
with one 250 this is ideal for you as you will get buds from the lower branches.
need any other help i will if i can.
have fun.

You can put it on now ,
It can't go wrong , Mj plant's are versatile , it will grow how you tell it to,
If you want to stop height , without topping and cutting your plants, you have to either bend them and tie down using Lst(low stress training), or use the screen method , it will grow into all the holes, you can push it down under the screen , the lower buds will recieve more light , the benefits are endless.
