3000 watts of lighting

Wad up RIU?? Im going to be designing a new grow op and Im wondering what does everyone think about 3000w how many plants could I fit under that?? I want to vegg till about 12-18 inches. Can I get away with 12 per light or would it be better to stick with like 10? Kepp in mind I want damn near optimum lighting. Thanks in advance. HAZE2

You could easily do 12 per 1000w...

You could cover 50 sf at the rate of 60watts per sf------10'x5'----2'x25'-----4'x12.5'...ect... with 3000watts of lighting. with lots of different methods---hempy--dwc---soil---bubble----air-mist---flood tables...ect...

Sounds like a killer setup. Some pics would be excellent.

Indeed Ill check that out thanks spiked. I plan on doing everything in soil, Ill have an complete greenhouse controller, co2, air conditioner, humidifier and de-humidifier I want the 300watts all on light rails, carbon scrubber vented lighting the whole nine. So easily a 12 plant per 100watts eh??

Holy shit that site is telling me Ill need alot more light for a 12x12.

waussup haze2, dude i need more info like what kinda lights you using 3 1000w, 5 600w.

make sure plan this op to the T cuz thats alot of wattage. try to cover every aspect of ya op and all will be ok

Thats a great little find for a site. It's really helpful and now thats its bookmarked I will for sure be linking it when people ask what size light to get for the space. Thanks. One question for the height Should I use the actual rooms height or just to the bottom of my lighting hood at its highest setting because I would assume that anything above the hood isn't growing space and therefor shouldn't be counted correct?

Yo Brick Im thinking Im going to go with the 600w lights probably 5 of them but what do you guys think about using the 3 1000s?? The Idea I have with the 5 600s is to have a 600 in each corner of the room so to speak and then have that last light sitting in the center, but If I do it that way Ill have to reconfigure on the light movers.

My grow op is 13'Lx9'Wx8'ht I have 4000w and 63 plants a totally sealed room and CO2 check out my room the link is in my sig..

If you were doing what I do, I would slap 64 lollipops under each 1k... x3

or 48 lollies under each 600 x5...

I run 4x 600 and I am averaging a zip a day on my perpetual...

Nice setup.

I have a 6.5x6.5x6.5 fot Mylar tent with 3 x 400 HPS, 1 x 600 HPS and 1 lonely 200W 6400 CFL in the middle.
2000W all up.
I'm waiting on 5 plants to finish (7 1/2 weeks of 12/12)
but my other plants just outgrew my veg room so I had to add 17 more plants a few days ago so it's kinda crowded at the moment.
13 of the 17 are females (feminised and clones)
the other 4 I'll know soon.

Forgot to mention I have,
5 White Queens almost finished
Just added
4 White Queen female clones ( I accidentaly broke off a branch when I originally put them in the tent for flowering, so made 5 clones, 1 didn't make it)
4 unknown sex White Queen's
2 feminised White Rhino
2 feminised LSD
1 feminised Georges Diamond
1 feminised S.S.Haze
2 feminised Trainwreck

Indeed I dig that setup where do you do all your vegging?? Your also saying I could put that many plants under the 1 600w I dont know If I want to do the lollipops considering I am familiar to that technique I just think I can utilize 8 feet in height and roughly 12x12 with some nice big plants and thats what led me to the 4 0r 5 600s. I have to say producing a zip a day is a very beautiful thing. Do you guys think it would be better to go with the 10 or so under each 600 or would it be more effective to go with mass amounts of smaller ones????

I only veg moms... the live in a closet, under a 400w T-5..

Light looses 75% of intensity per foot traveled...

So 8 feet... means your bottoms are going to be about .. oh 5 feet from the light...

That means 25% of 25% of 25% of 25% of 25% of the initial intensity of light...

I choose to do short/small plants because more of the plant is in better light...

My nugs are HARD all the way down the stem... I have no bottom nugs... just colas...

and roughly 12x12 with some nice big plants

Let me just say that I WANT to grow like MBlaze.. that is my dream...

But to stop what I am doing, and switch, means I would go 5 or 6 months without a harvest...

That is just out of the question for someone used to harvesting everyday...

I cannot find it in me to justify multiple big HIDs fired up for months to veg...

Hell... in 6 months I get 180 zips... and I am still flowering a full room by the time the big girls are ready to switch...

But that's just me...

Yo thanks for the help now what do you think about the vegg time on your plants how long vegg and how tall do they get when you go into flower, what yield do you pull off each.
