Yes. By a few % and better spread. But not knowing which driver or board youre using and planning to add i cant say for sure if its going to work.
Sorry I've a kingbright 240w

On the 240-48B you could add another board in parallel as long as it was exactly the same as the first 2 boards, and run them at 80w each approx. I find it very recommendable especially if youre able to spread out the boards a bit. I find it works best with a few boards spread out on 50-80w each.
Parallel connections means the boards will share the current/wattage between them as long as they have the same voltage.

Current determines efficiency, not wattage. So depending on your driver EACH diode will be more efficient. Which will extend their life span. But overall you will have same PPFD.
its actually forward voltage that dictates efficiency, why, because that is the value that when x current=watts. its the value which manufacturers can improve and every improvement in vf when driven at current converts to better or worse eff

yes right the 5k Sammy should be brighter?
Ya the Sammy 5K are more efficient. The 5K spectrum exhibits less efficacy (quantum & luminous) but the data sheet difference in efficiency seems to make up for it. You're right. I wasnt taking individual chip efficiency into account. CREE seems to have come a ways since I last took a peek if those numbers are correct.

yes right, the recent Cree upgrade is great to see and good they continue to improve this chip, along with its max 480ma drive current and more improvements to come, this should become THE chip for grows
cheers
