345 Watt LED Bagseed SOIL grow

Hello everyone! Been off the grid for a while now I'm back.. Currently I have 4 bagseed under my new LED light. They all are about 22 days old very compact..initially thought they might have some ruderalis in em but since expelled that notion.
Soil: FF happy frog, 25% perlite, 15% vermaculite, 1/8 Cup Dolomite Lime.
Just topped the two in the front yesterday. they're on 19/5 light right now just fed em their first bloom nutes, using botanicare pro blend soil w/ liquid karma.
Water: Distilled bought from store until I got enough $$ to buy an RO.
Anyway, just wondering what you guys thought about how they look, been out of the game for a while but I think they look ok for their age... still short 6" but have at least 7-9 nodes already. Gonna post updates so I have somewhere to track everything.
Last water: 8/4/2011- 0.9 EC -pH 6.4 Runoff pH: 5.8 0.75 Gallons
P.S. The light is a hydrogrowLED 345 watt penetrator... done pretty damn well so far in veg. Not using any CFLs because trying to keep footprint as low as possible.

Well they're normally 1100 new but I got a deal on cl got mine for 800. Yeah expensive as shit I know but if this light actually lasts 10 years and does decent it'll be worth it. My plan is to eventually have a micro grow cabinet scrog using this light as primary gotta see how it flowers first.

Update. Pruned some lower leaves and undergrowth that weren't getting good light. Since penetration is an issue with 1 watt LEDs, want to make sure canopy is main area of plants. Also watered today with distilled adjusted to 6.8 with .25 tsp/gal cha ching (for zinc, molybdenum, and iron) and .5tsp/gal microbe brew. Stlll on veg 19/5 light cycle. nice haha yep leds are still expensive for sure but i have made the switch i will never go back to hps to much power waste and fire risk..... you should check out my " led growing is the way of the future thread lots of good info and support on their cheers bro.

12/12 today. Power bill was only $20 more than normal after 1st month of use. Not bad compared to my 600 watt HPS setup that cost me an extra $90 with the light, ballast, exhaust fan (cool tube) and tent exhaust fan. Even if this grow only yields a shit ounce of popcorn buds its for personal use anyway...

Trimmed undercarriage again. These little bastards are persistent.
Watered today (1/2 Gallon Distilled):
0.25 TSP Open Sesame
0.50 TSP Kangaroots
3 TSP Big Bloom
2 TSP Tiger Bloom
2 TBSP Dolomite Lime (To bring ph up and give them some well needed Cal-Mag)
pH: 6.3
Runoff: 5.9 (A little low kinda pissing me off)
EC: 1.5

Theyre looking pretty good starting the stretch....the little runt in the back is starting to catch up.

Cool thread. I have faith that LEDs still have a long way to come but they will get there. I'm looking forward to the day where a 450 watt LED will outperform a 1000 watt HPS. I give it about 2-3 years. If so, I will dump whatever I have in my savings account to get that light lol.

i hearr ya bro bbut i think that with market demand and the fact most people dont leven know about led grow lights which is changing pretty fast leds will hit their high point even sooner maybe 1-2 years but who knows really. also girlies are looking good was gonna say damn man thats quite the amount of juice your feeding them quite aggressive .... i like it haha ever run into over nute problems?

Lol ya I was worried about that too. 1.5 EC is the highest I've ever fed them, normally I stick to 1.0. But I only feed them every other watering. My soil drains very well I have a lot of perlite and a layer of hydroton on bottom. When I give em a half gallon, at least half drains out the bottom. This way they get a mini
"Flush" each time I water em, so salts don't build up. I also weigh the pots right after I water and I never let them dry out to the point where the salt concentration gets toxic. This light gives them so much energy I think they use all the nutes I give em well. I haven't had a nute burn problem ever with this crop and they looked great after this watering...next time they're getting fresh water and then ill prolly stick to 1.3-1.4 EC until flush time......I'm trying to not fuck up anything on this one because I wanna see what the full potential of this light is kwim?

sweet glad to hear it man ya if all that water is draining out im sure some of the nutes go with it too. either way awesome that its workin out for ya. a friend of mine just tried and aggressive cycle and he burnt lol but it bounced back for him after he backed off.

Subbed up. Im looking into getting a penetrator x to do a comparative grow against Blackstar LEDs.
Cool. The penetrator x is the new one with swappable modules and better lenses rt? Mine is just the 345 watt penetrator with 1 watt diodes. Never heard of blackstar....I'm gonna do some research into em now. I'm tryin my best this grow to make sure the girls have zero problems so I can see what this light can rlly do..

Holy crap dude. Just looked up some stuff on the 240 watt blackstar...only $280??? And it supposedly used 2 and 3 watt cree chips with a mix of 60 and 120 degree lenses with white diodes and uv?? That seems wayyy too cheap for those specs I'm a little skeptical. Looked at a few journals with em tho they seem to be pretty good. With cree chips canopy penetration must be ridonkulous. I might buy one of these things. Feeling like I got ripped off now by grow hydro lol...

dont worry my friend you made the right choice ..... with leds and most electronics you get what you pay for. blackstars are cheap but they do not advertise true wattage a 240w model only puts out 130w or some shit like that. the blackstars in my opinion would be good for supplemental lighting or ya can grab their bigger model the 500w but again not true wattage. if you were to buy a 240w blackstar and put it up against one of your 290w spectras the spectra would run show so dont worry buddy you ,made the right choice for sure.

Ya I did some more research into em. The 3W diodes actually draw like 1-1.5 watts... I was lookin for a stand alone unit capable of decent yields and growing from seed to harvest. Haven't seen the 500 watt model of the blackstars but like I said at that price u gotta be skeptical. I looked on the CREE site and the LEDs alone in that unit would cost like $200-250 depending on configuration. I'm not an accountant, but that doesn't leave much room for profit. They may have gotten a huge bulk deal but even then there's still not room to keep a company alive. Gonna research furthur into it. All I know is I spent a good 8 months researching LEDs before I bought one, I almost caved and bought a UFO when all the hype was around, and I'm damn glad I didn't LOL. For the most part (not all) but most are garbage as stand alone units.

Theyre getting nice and bushy now, moved the light up a couple of inches to spread out the light a bit. Still 11" tall. Was aiming for 24" so well see. They seemed to enjoy that last feeding alot.

They drank up that half gallon starting to build up salt. Gave them half gallon of fresh water pH adjusted to 7.0 with 1 TBSP lime and 1 TBSP big bloom (microbes)
Runoff: 6.2 (Nice)
EC: .357 uS

The two ones on the right (Molly and Emily) have thinner, smaller leaves than Grace and Julia. My thinking is that since I topped em and trimmed um it may be a stress reaction or they are producing more leaves and have less energy to make them bigger. Theyre all about the same height now, 1 foot.
