dude lol

no i think theyre supposed to be fuller and more covered in trichs...you should really get some help for those man. serious.

haha. damn man that looks gewd...im starting to see preflowers already on my lady thats been in just over a week! craziness. hps does wonders. i did do a little refinishing/tweaking of my cabs last night.

drilled in a support for the flower cabs hoods air tubes FAN. lol so it isnt half falling out anymore. i raised the hood up a few inches and reoriented it diagonally. just so...

heres the ladies in flower. readings are kinda high. and getting claw again! why?!?

heres the veg cab. can see the bigger fan on top. readings are better, if they stay low. i now have a thermo hygrometer in each cab.

and heres the 2by. put the 4 inch on it. guna take some clones starting next monday so...figured id check it out. lil warm, but not too bad. the humidity will go up when i put plants in there...

so what the hell is with the claw? too hot? nutes? any help would be awesome.

Too hot. I build almost the same box but I have a ridge at the top like a house. Heat rises and I have a ridge vent across that lets the hot air out. I'm a roofer, what can I do.lol I see you have a nice vent on top. I got OSB plywood that had the radiant heat barrier apply to it. The stuff you are using is very similar, they reflect energy back in box. It will run hot, so I run my light at night. Nice set up....rw

ya 86 is a little warm..u want 82F max...that may be cause the eagle claw effect.. do u have a fan in there if not im sure it wud help a bunch to get a fan like u have in ur veg cab in ut flower cab..good luck dank set up tho

rw could you go into depth a lil more about this ridge vent?

there is a 250 cfm fan mounted near the very top on the right hand side, if you look at the first pic in that post...its mounted directly in the wall and pulls air out the top. there are little intake holes around the bottom that you can see on the SECOND pic in the post...make those bigger maybe?

i mean like an oscillating fan to mix the cold on the bottom with the hot air..and the holes at the bottom cud be a little bigger id go 4in if u have 2 holes or 1 6in...do u have glass on ur hood?

oh and those fans are duct boosters? so there 250 boosted and 160 standing air. i have the same ones i think, still shud be plenty

I made a roof peak on mine, just like a house, but it open along ridge. What you have should work, another hole with fan if you need more heat removal. I do have plant claw no matter what, especially in late flower. I have big temp. changes where i live and rh changes too. Wed it was 75 a10:00am, 38 degree at 2:00 pm. I do what I can but can't adjust it anyway. I am doing alright. You might run your light at night, it is cheaper too.....rw

dutchmaster it they are indeed booster fans. did not realize that they were 160 with still standing air...good to know! i do have glass on my hood...its a tube inside the hood. and i think i may just try having the small fan on the floor of the flower cab to push cooler air up...didnt think of that...anyway there are 6 holes at 1.25 inches...2 on each wall except of course for on the front (doors). i am thinking about increasing each hole to 4 inches...so there would be 6 - 4 inch holes.

rw i was running my lights at night, switched them over gradually to have the same dawn as the flower cab. the flower cab runs from 7am to 7pm and the veg from 7 am to 1am...maybe i will reverse them again, gradually of course. i think what i did was make each day an hour longer for 12 days. could do that again but that would entail blacking out my windows, which sounds like a HUGE pain in the ass, as i would have to move the whole flower cab...maybe making the intake holes bigger will work?

whats everyone think? planning to make intake holes bigger in flower cab. will this do?

Larger holes should definitely help. Don't make me post that picture of pipe flow reduction as diameter decreases :)

lol i believe i know where i could find it, thanks gas!

so i DO have 7.5+(the doors not sealed) inches of intake to my 6 inches of powered output...but i guess 24 inches of intake won't hurt! lol...

It will help! Plus the fan will help. I would try that rather then changing your light time. You also put a booster fan on intake holes with ducting run under your house other cool spot, if you use ac put it to the register. You have more thing to try, anyway. Grow on ..rw

good bloody morning guys!!! :) flowa here, bored and blazed at 3 am, gotta spit a question out there, need some conversation of some sort, get my mind of some dodgy shit.....

Is 24 degrees to cold in the tent to provide fast growth, or should i turn the hood fan off?
i'm using a 600watt in a aircooled hood with built in 6 inch fan + i have a 300cfm extraction fan.....running all the time

thoughts, rep to quickest answer ;)

from my understanding 24 is pretty much ideal unless your talking farenheit then yeah its a bit chilly :)

i just can't believe i got it down to those temps, i thought something was wrong! i was curious though because i thought outside weather, if its hotter the plants would grow better, and faster, i'm understanding now that the plant won't be under heat stress, so i'm happy, should be a good grow this autumn!! nice and cool

thank you sir! much appreciated.

flowamasta i know you have been around, but i never read through ur thread. just read the first couple pages. HOOKED. lol. will be reading thru it over the next couple days. looking forward to it...

anyways will be widening the intake holes soon and moving the freestanding fan from the veg cab to the floor of the flower cab. hoping that will take care of my temp issues. its interesting though, the temps were around 72 or so in the veg cab with the secondary fan on, turned it of for s's and g's and the temp actually dropped and held at 68...is that too cold?

So temperature and humidity play several roles. Chemical reactions speed up with heat so the warmer the environment the faster the plant is able to grow. At the same time the warmer the air temps are the less dense the air is which decreased available necessary gasses. Additionally, high temperatures increase transpiration rates which can be good (this is your plant breathing/drinking), but if you go beyond a certain threshold the plant starts to loose water too quickly and will start to choke itself by sealing off it's stomata (essentially the plants lungs) which decreases water uptake as well as gas exchange.

Humidity effects the same thing but in slightly different ways. If it's too humid you have poor gas exchange and little transpiration and thus little water uptake and slow cellular respiration (growth). If it's too dry your plant will again close it's stomata in order to decrease water loss.

I realize you didn't ask about humidity but they really go hand in hand with each other.

Typically 60's isn't too low. 70s is slightly more ideal.
