3x3x7 Grow Room questions

I have a small tent would a 1000w lamp be overkill or no and I'm also looking into a fan it's pretty cheap but it's 700 cfm I'm worried it will implode the tent any help would be great

1000 is over kill. For a 3x3 area a 400w would be more than enough. Why a 700 cfm for 3x3x7?

I am build a similar size grow box. 4 feet wide x 2.6 deep x 6 feet tall. I have 600w which is going to be in a air cooled reflector with a 6inch fan at a rate of 440cfm.

If your only cooling one light 700 is an overkill also

The light source and the fan are both too much for your grow dimensions. In terms of lighting a 400 watt would suffice. The fan about a 250-400 cpm would be good. A 700 cfm fan would create too much negative pressure.

I didnt even think about a 400w this is my first grow so I'm trying to get everything ready before hand the plants are begging in a 5 Gal bucket right

xxx I don't know what that is but if you really want to grow some herb it can be done with a bunch of cfls but you should get an hps a 400 watt is a great place to start. you could veg under cfl while you save up for one but it is well worth it. tell me about what your goals are. are yu planing to supply yourself with weed for the next 20 years or are you just screwin off for a grow and than giving up because you are going to half ass it and fail. do you have room a closet a cabinet you are growing in tell me about that. you need to plan what your doing first I see too many people without a plan and lon streched out spindly plants, so if you wanna do this than lets do this if not than I won't waste y time

I use a 8" 700 cfm fan to cool 4-600s in a 10x9. Lol. I suggest a 6" fan around 400cfm and a fan speed controller to turn it down a bit. I would also get a carbon filter rated for about the same cfm, maybe even down to 250. Get an air cooled reflector and put a 400 watt HPS in it. You can always add supplemental light in the form of florescent.

Hang the carbon filter at the highest point, put 4-6" of 6" flex duct between the carbon filter and the fan. Then run 6" flex from the fan through the air cooled reflector and out of the room.

A hole near the bottom of the space will help bring fresh air into the room. When everything is dialed in, you should have negative pressure in the room (this will always bring in fresh air and reduces the need for CO2 enrichment.)

Seeing as you're already making extra boxes and thinking upgrades, you might as well grab a 600 watt dimable ballast and put a 400 in it. If you ever end up with a bigger room, you'll want the 600.

400 watt is just enough. Even a 600 I would say would be over kill. I have a 400 watt hps lighting up my 2 car garage. Add this thing is bright. So with that said a small cabinet with a 400 watt is plenty man! Save that extra money for mylar and such.

oh ok I see what your working with. honestly thats a pretty cool little setup, It would work good for starting clones but to finish a plant in there is going to be a disapointing struggle. yoou have a closet is that correct?

I started running sumwhere, back to reality. ok you are getting a 3x3 tent right, that would need the 400w hps anything more would be a waste. anothr small area for a mother would help you out a bunch too but like yea what is the plan a 400 watt is what you need in a 3x3 good ventilation and a cool tube wouldnt hurt

srsly.... 3x3x7=63 CF....150cfm should be fine. and yes tent will suck in so it will be even less than 63....make sure your filter doesnt get stopped up by the tent sides. Just realized i had that going on, fixed it, and my 4 daisy chained tents dropped like 1.5 degrees F each....

The bucket to veg already have the tent
ahh so you plan to veg in bucket and flower in tent is that correct???
be kinda cool if you could have a place for 2 mothers and use bucket for clones than flower in tentunder 400w hps. like 2 storage totes one upside down on top of the other with cfls in it to keep 2 mothers then you could run a harvest every 2 months and be a rock star 2 3x3 tents would rock one for flower one for cfl veg and clone

I just set up my old 3x3x7 tent for my friend with a 400w HPS in an air cooled hood and a 6" 440cfm inline fan on a speed controller. 9 plants running in 3gal Smart Pots. Temp and humidity have been hanging around 78 degrees and 50% humidity in a closed room with no ac. The fan still sucks the sides of the tent a little (which is what I wanted) with the fan turned down to about 70%. The fan is quiet enough to not be able to hear it with the door to the room closed. You could get away with a 600w (That's what I used in the tent) but a 1000 watter and that fan are definitely both overkill. I guess you could control that fan WAAAAAAAYYYYYYY down! lol
