Thanks. And what tools you need to mount the system. I ask because I know nothing about electronic things.
Check out my "My first cxa3070" thread in my signature, I have the whole process for my first led laid out. I think that would help you out a lot.

What bin cxa3070s did you order?
Pretty sure the CXA is z2 bin, not 100% positive though. It is listed in my other thread for the CXA, I am just not at my computer and that is an intensive task on my phone lol

These are the CXBs

Figures right after I run 3 cxa's off a 1400 lol Besides the extra spread from having the extra cob, are they putting out that much more of the good stuff that I'm short changing my grow?
You're not short changing your grow. You could now put one more on the string, but each one is still the same basically.
The driver is capable of ~200w. 3 cxa's is only ~78% of the possible wattage. The remaining is not enough to run one more CXA. But with the slightly lower voltages of the CXB, they can fit 4 and be basically full load/wattage.
Well I wouldn't think you are running as efficient as me even with the differences in the CXAs and CXBs, just because you don't have a full load on the driver. I think maybe a different driver would have been ideal, hell go buy 4 CXBs for that driver and use the CXAs on something a little more matched
So I would say yes, short changing for that reason. You paid for something you can't take advantage of
Lol this is just my two cents
That is the best match for 3 cxa's still. Of course he could now go CXB's...but those just came out/aren't really out.

That driver can be at 50% of load and it doesn't lose efficacy at 115v. And even on 240/277 is a very little drop(1.5%) and is still more efficient than any other option out at full load.

I just got the CXBs today!! :bigjoint:

The driver is scheduled to be here tuesday, and the heatsinks are at the local UPS right now:hump:
I still have thermal adhesive (hopefully enough), so by tuesday I should have all 4 of the cxb3070's hooked up.

That will make (4)cxb3070 3Ks and (1)cxa3070 3K for flowering in 3'x4' closet all focused on 1 12gallon tub. Hopefully I will get some good results8-)

Just wanted to let everyone know that I got all of my parts in and everything set up and runnning! I was out of town for a week so I am just getting back on track and have time to get things updated.

I tested the voltage at the driver and it is at 139.7v and those things are bright!!! The driver is pretty warm to the touch but nothing alarming, this is the first day that I have had all 5 LEDs on my babies.

Since I have switched from GH organic to flora I have noticed a HUGE difference, will never do organic dwc again lol Everything is growing so fast and healthy, the roots have really came around and whitened up a lot. Not to mention how much cleaner my rez is now, live and learn.

1. All (5) of the 3070s 3Ks in a 3*3 ft area
2. The babies all being trained w/floral wire and screws
3. Shot of the stems, getting pretty fat! I see what look like pistils, which are currently green, so I am hoping for all female since they all look the same!

Planning on putting the 36w Vero 10s 5Ks on a bubbler clone tub as soon as I am sure of sex.

Glad you tried the synthetic DWC route! Honestly, I just felt this thread deserves to be bumped due to it's relevance as an LED build/grow thread.

I have also been using the Lucas formula so I am only using Micro and Bloom and they seem to be loving it! Not to mention the smell, these synthetic nutes smell 100x better than the organic nutes for sure.

I now believe that I have an LED problem, I have now built 7 individual lamps in the past 2 months lol Each one better than the last and still learning better ways to do things everyday.

I am excited to see the flower power these have :peace:

I do have a concern though, my air temps were roughly 77F and I noticed some curling up of leaf tips on some of my plants. I thought that it might be a heat issue since this is the highest temps they have been exposed to, but then I thought maybe the LEDs are a little too close? I have them about 14-16" away from canopy top with a big box fan in the closet blowing on them. I have since opened a window and got the air temp to 70F. Any thoughts?

Done.
Purchsed:

4 CXB3070 3Ks scheduled to be shipped tomorrow
Meanwell hlg-185h-c1400b driver
4 Arctic Alpine 64 heastink/fan combo
Literally exactly what is sitting on my kitchen table right now except apline 11 plus heatsinks! Should be putting it together in the next few week. I plan on making a thread and also very interested to see how yours goes. What will you mount everything to?

I currently have them on hangers, one on each end. 2 hangers with 4 LEDs, not the prettiest thing in the world and all of the wires are visible but it allows me the mobility I need to move my lights around. Plus I did not want to build anything too permanent considering I am moving in roughly 2.5 months. I think you will be very pleased with these lights, they are very bright:cool: The driver feels heavy and of quality material. Interested to see how your LED modules turn out!

Nice man. Sorry, I didn't go to page 2 yesterday before replying, I'm now seeing the pics and all that. Lookin good!! I just love that fact that the 4x CXBs and that drive match so perfectly. For mine we are going 2x2 supported by aluminum L brackets cross braced in the middle with the driver in between the 2 rows. My first grow is finishing up so should be nice to see what this new DIY bar + the P300 LED I already had can do in comparison.

Yea I will be getting some metal brackets when I move, I hate the hangers lol It feels a little jank.

I did clean my rez out today, I noticed small little white pieces floating so I assumed it was salt of some sort. I drained it about half way, scrubbed it out, cleaned the hoses and air stones and cleaned the powerhead. The powerhead had a bunch of gunk collected in the bottom filter attachment. I wasn't sure if I should keep using it or if having the large intake would be bad considering roots could be sucked up in. I am doing all of this because as I said I have some leaves turning up on the edges and was given the comment that the plant is "too green" for second week of flower and the beginning of nitrogen toxicity was brought up.

What do you guys think?!?!

I do have a box fan blowing on the plants about 3ft away, it is on low. All of the plants aren't doing it, only some leaves on some of the plants. The PPM has stayed at around 850 and they drank about a gallon of water in the last two days, maybe beginning nute lock out?

Air- 70F, 60% humidity
Rez- 65F, 850PPM

1. Close up of the turning
2. Turning primarily on new top growth

Any thoughts on how high the LEDs should be from the canopy? I am wondering if the tips are curling from the intensity of all 5 3070s. I currently have them in a 3'x3' area about 14"-16" from the canopy, I feel a slight warmth from the LED on the canopy but my temps are still <75F. From reading around I have seen between 12"-24", any thoughts?

Any lenses? I am running about the same wattage in a 2x3' (testing) and it's only warm about 6" away. I'd say it's something else your not pounding them with photons to the point they'd recoil. Only time I noticed a significant difference in heat was adding the lens but even then your talking 12"

What's your RH? May be making them crisp with how fast they could be transpiring. I've done it before with RH in 18-20% range.

That and what are you running? Soil or hydro. Did you recently reamend or anything that stands out like that.
