Last year I started my first grow.
Bought high end everything, read lots then read lots more.

Ordered 10 pack of Gelato33 from MSNL and all was good.

First grow was terrific.

One year and 3 or 4 more grows, I decide to plant 4 more of those Gelato33 seeds. Well they were feminized but 2 turned out to be full male so they were culled.
2 plants grew nice and I took 2 clones from one of them.
Later they grew strange! plenty of pistils but not like my first round.
Light and airy buds filled with seeds (bullshit I am) but now I have a hundred seeds or so (cool).
Now here I am 4 months later and the 2 clones Hermed, pistils and nanners. Killed em just now before they grew out.

Seeds from seed banks are not getting any better as the time passes and it wont change unless you are in contact with somebody who put years and years into selecting, crossing and breeding his own stuff. If you have taken clones from plant which you have flowered before successfully and the clones hermed, than its definitely your fault. If you have taken clones from plant which threw out nanners and pollinated herself than it could also be your fault as well as clone herm. If you have taken clones from a plant which later turned out to be true herm than it does not make sense why you kept the clones.

I was not sure if the 2 plants were pollenated from the males I tossed, I grew them out with that in mind.

The clones were my proof they were bad genetics or bad growing skills

be a seed collector. with that high-end investment capital buy many, many seeds from multiple sources. that's what I've done to combat that same issue and I'm fine. Just counted, I have close to 300 strains. This grow I started with 4 seeds/seedlings and ended up with one monster of a romulan plant... almost ready to try another mix of 4 seeds and see if I might get luckier...

There are some excellent seed banks and breeders out there, to suit all budgets. I have never had any problems with anything from RQS, Sensi Seeds, Expert Seeds and many others.

I feel ya. I actually chucked a big plant that was starting flower, because her clones threw nanners and I got lucky, they didn't pollinate anything. Didn't wana take my chances so I just chucked the whole plant in the trash. It happens, man. My opinion; since you had a good run with it the first time, and NOT the next time, it coulda been the beans, but did you make any significant changes from the first grow? Different nutrients? Anything?

Changed the light from a 270W LED to a 400W. Everything else was the same, Just one year older beans
