My lowest rate is $0.26-$0.30/KWH and between 4-9PM it’s $0.50/KWH. It all depends on where you live.

I’m shocked at the prices I have to pay when I see others paying like a 1/4 of the price but I live in highly desired area of the US and the power companies are a damn monopoly what can you do. If solar & powerwalls didn’t cost upwards of $30k I would definitely be going that route.
This sounds like our rates are pretty similar. I have three different plans available. Do you also have a baseline allowance?

I’m on the TOU plan and I do have a baseline, I believe it’s 140% but it’s only about a 4-6 cent difference. The baseline threshold is extremely low though. I go over it with just household utilities.

We pay 8.9 Cents per KWH.. we typically run through 9800KWH a month in veg, and 6700 KWH in flower. But that's for both the grow building and a residence.... we pump a lot of water during the summer.. like 16,000 gallons a day. But winter, the bill and usage is a bit lower.

Edit, current bill fresh from mailbox 10.0584 cents including all taxes and fees.

Do you ever go four times over your baseline and get charged with that max rate ?

Hello all so i was looking at my pg&e bill because I'm getting ready to run 2 tents a 5x9 and a 4x4. i was checking my rates to try and calculate how much i would be spending on electricity monthly and currently im being charged 23-30 cents per kwhr. So my problem is that i have a baseline and when i starts growing i will surely be over my baseline every month which will put me at 30 cents. Now the tricky part is if i use over 4 times my baseline i will be charged at 40cents per kwhr for energy used over 4 times the baseline. My question to you all is can i get my baseline usage limit raised? do i need to call pg&e with an excuse about why i need to raise it? i don't really want to be paying 40c per kwhr on 5000-6000 watts of power.

ill be running

2- 1000w HPS
1- 4-600w MH
1-55 Pint Ideal Air dehumidifier
1- 22 pint dehumidifier
1- 28,000 frigidaire window A/C unit

those are the majority of the power suckers besides fans and controllers so how do i get my baseline raised using this much power?
Holy fuck 30c I only pay only 8c. Privatization sucks ass.

I go way over my baseline all the time but luckily the difference is only 4-6 cents since I'm on the TOU (time of use) plan. The main thing for me is to not run anything during 4PM-9PM as that is when I get charged 46-50 cents/KWH. I also currently have someone in my household that is on medi-cal so I get a big discount from the CARE program thankfully. Saves like 30% on the bill.

I’m in the Central Valley and 40cents would be the max price they would charge for any power used after using 4 times my baseline allowance. It will be about 23cents before I reach that threshold. I will forsure be going over my baseline and fast with the power I’m going to be pulling to this room. I am wondering if there’s a way to increase my baseline allowance so I can stay within that threshold and not be paying 40c for most of all the power I’ll be using
Years ago your cost per kwh used to go down the more you used but depends on the area and demand I guess. I'm not happy with ours and it was 23.5¢/kwh last time I worked it out. Our bill for the whole house runs 400 - $500/mth as it is.

I need a generator that runs on natural gas cause that's dirt cheap here so it doesn't cost all that much to heat the place and it get's pretty f'n cold here for a good part of the year. Broke the old record last winter with -38.1C almost the same in F too as -40 is the exact same on both scales. Brrr . . .

:peace:

Cali’s environmental agencies are to thank for your rates...along with your rolling blackouts. Local (state wide) elections matter and y’all continue to shoot yourselves in the foot. You have enough power capacity in “moth balls” to enjoy the same rates as us in the southeast but due to the policies you keep voting into place you can enjoy your $800 power bills.... cuz fu@k Trump. Lol
