400 hps grow

I have a 400 wtt hps known for blooming...what do I ahve to do to make it a veg system..change bulb??? or can I....please help...smoke on peace

you can just use that bulb for veg. or get a convesion bulb.

You can get a MH conversion bulb , I too bought a 400 watt HPS system and I also bought this bulb it works great, High Tech Garden Supply

I dont think u can go hps for veg ............can u..???........I thought it was on the oppisite end of the spectrum..........

im using 2 600 watt hps bulbs for flower and veg check my plants out there only 5 weeks old and there giant bushes

yeah i have to agree.....i have just 250W hps for 2 girls. ive used it ever since they were babies and they are giant now....HPS concentrates on the orange/yellow/red side of the spectrum more than the MH....i personally think HPS is better for both cycles

well MH is good for flowering because it gives off more blue/red spectrum , of course u can use HPS for both but will u get the best results? NO , use MH for Veg and HPS for flowering , the conversion buld is worth it, trust ..

hps is fine for both veg and flower...I never had a complaint from my girls, although I do us a 430w SonAgro HPS with 30w extra blue spectrum...

yo, i use a 400w hps for my two girls veg an flower and they lookin great, dunno if the mh worth the extra ca$h

Im using the same bulb, and you can barely see the blue, except when its warming up, i wonder if its still there all the time we just cant see it cause of the 400 watts of red?.... good bulb though !

i would go with some vho t5s blue for veggin,blue normally come with the set.then buy some red bulbs to switch out when your not using to put in your flowering room for bottom/side lighting,the t5s in flowering side/bottom really help.

you say MH best for flowering, then say MH for veg? u confused me.
i thought it was best to use MH for veg & HPS for flowering?
I use 600w HPS from veg to flower seems to be ok for me.
