400 watt mh/hps setup

I bought 400W HPS from hightechgardening for 135 including S&H... best thing I ever did... everything bulb ballast reflector. fast as fuck shiping
 
Nice. Just a normal hps ballast? or was it electric or anything.

Also, do you have to have special outlets for the hps or will they plug into an average bedroom ballast or power strip?
 
Umm all ballasts are electric lol..I grabbed my 600 watt switchable digital ballast for $115 each new,They run both bulbs and are silent with overclocking so they actually equal 640 watts each and use less electricity closer to a 450 light.
 
yea its a three prong plug. the link to the light is my signature... I think everyone needs to know about it!
You should plug it into a poerstrip that has a surgething... button... that does stuff...
and it will work on the 10 doller hevyduty timer they sell at homedepot and lowes... the one with three prongs
no it wasn't an electronic ballast. only works for HPS. but for that price I can buy a seperate MH

Same question. Sounds like a hell of a deal. And yes, I meant digital. Some sites advertise them as electronic.
 
Saw the mh/hps. Looks pretty cool and I'll look more into it. I like the idea of the digital ballast because it's silent and stealth is a must. Also because I wont be home most of the day, so I would like to take the igniter out of the equation. Don't want my house burning down with my dank inside ;). If it were outside that would be a different story.

I probably won't be buying it for a few weeks. Just trying to get the ventilation and everything figured out first.

for about $40 (or less if u shop around) your should be able to find a hps conversion bulb that changes to mh. they work just as efficiently for the purpose and you save the money of having to buy a separate or switchable ballast.
 
I thought conversion bulbs were ineficient. But I just heard this never tried it.
they sell the 400W HPS with the conversion bulb for 130 0r something like that...
that light looks pretty nice... is that a aircooled reflector?
 
they haved ballast kits too. Im pretty good with eletrical shit. so are the ballast kits worth anything or does anyone know?
 
Yea they have the kits cheeper... I dont know much about it I was afraid to even look I suck with electrisity... it killed my mother and raped my sister :(
but yea there even cheaper and some of them come with everything you need... but someone else could help you way more than me with that

no I dont work for them :) I just like them... I liekem alot... I want to tuch them... in ... places....
