This is a basic price guide to getting started growing indoors,I will update this with more information soon.Feel free to leave comments, links for equipment, and DIY guides if you would like.Prices vary so look around before you decide right away,I'll try to post links to the popular sites soon.

For anyone getting started, this is showing parts with different prices. Not everyone wants a Lumatek ballast and actually the one I posted is $210 with free shipping (NextGen) and the hood I posted is $105 + $27 shipping (Yield Master II) and the last comment was $340.That's not much of a difference in my opinion ($2) but its all comes down to your favorite brands. After throwing that out their, Lumatek doesn't necessarily have the best name for itself in some peoples opinions but after their recent upgrades I say go for it!!!! In fact I had my heart set on a 400W Lumatek ballast at first but after some research I went with something a little more sleek and up to date,I plan on posting more information soon with the cheapest prices on a few ballasts and hoods etc. This is price list I put together in 20 minutes and I did mention prices vary site to site so do your research, this will be updated with the best deals I can find at a later date.

I did recognize that that deal offered a Ultrasun HPS bulb but no need for one of those when i'm buying a digilux bulb,(95k Lumens)digilux bulbs are built for digital ballasts.... thanks again for the link any help is appreciated!

Urban sunshine is in my list of sites(You should see the list of favorites I have) but I mainly linked amazon to some of these items because they post multiple sites with prices on shipping if you click the new item link.

The 375 includes a hortilux hps bulb. Without a bulb the deal is $280. That's the lumatek and the air cooled sealed hood (better than a yieldmaster). Your ballast was 210 and hood 132 which is a total of 342 without any bulb. $62 is considerable in my opinion.

I would recommend the new Lumatek high PAR bulbs over the hortilux. Never run a digilux myself but the $62 dollar saving is almost enough to buy one ;)

Here's one for $82 http://www.hiphydroponics.com/Digilux-Digital-HPS-and-MH-Bulbs

Thanks Gastanker for your quick replies,I appreciate someone putting some effort into this guide with me so its very much appreciated. Before I posted I tried to take it into consideration not everyone would be buying setups in bulk so I linked items in single pieces instead of bulk deals. I plan on linking different types of bulbs, prices, and any other deals I can find on my late nights I stay up smoking(Every night LOL)I mainly named a few items for anyone that's getting started and I may be wrong but I thought new growers or experienced would look around before just going for what I've linked. That bulb is cheap as hell,if you have a list of sites with good deals feel free to link and ill add them to my list. Thanks again

If anyone would like to see certain brands posted just tell me and ill do some research.I will link Lumatek, Quantum, and a couple other name brands so no worries.

I was skeptical at first about getting my Digital Greenhouse 600watt MH/HPS Digital ballast from HTGSupply but it works great and I also have a HTGSupply 250watt magnetic ballast which I do not particularly care for since I'm on my 2nd bulb in the 2nd month of use. If the electric goes out I have to turn the magnetic off and on again. Can ruin my light cycle since the 250 runs 24/0

Anyway to help you out I'm going to post the setup I bought for each. Excluding my flower room costs and running electric, breakers etc. for my own peace of mind.

Flower Room
-Digital Greenhouse 600watt MH/HPS ballast
-cordset for bulb and plug into ballast wall etc.
-EuroCool 6" air cooled, sealed hood
-600watt growbright HPS bulb
-Growbright 6" inline fan 434cfm 6" Carbon filter Combo deal
-Sunleaves Light hangers (yo-yo hangers)
- 6" worm clamps x3 pairs
-25 feet of 6" ducting
-50 pack 3 Gal. Grow bags

$535.86 shipped all from HTG Supply

Now I also bought FFHP soil and FF nutes and a 16" oscillating fan and a bunch of other stuff but as far getting the light, heat, and odor under control It's pretty good deal I would upgrade the bulb though.

My Veg/mother/clone room

From HTGSupply

-250watt MH Magnetic HTGSupply Ballast, hood, and 250MH bulb
-Growbright 6" clip on 2-speed fan
-Sunleaves light hangers

$166.83 shipped

Amazon.com

4'x2'x5' Light proof Hydro Hut Grow Tenet

$95.87 shipped

Couldn't be happier with the setup in my Flower room for the price and no hassle packages all being here at the same time(5 days after ordered BTW) it was all assembled and ran for heat trials that night.

I'll get back to you on the HTGSupply 250watt MH ballast but for $127 shipped it works great. Also the Amazon.com Grow tent is a great quality tent for the price.

Nice comments guys I appreciate it,I posted the Secret Jardin tents because I know they are of the best quality and they are popular. With that being said please comment on these hydro huts and other brand tents because from some research certain tents are bad.Ebay is a good idea I have seen these 4x4 secret jardin tents go for $120 (used) which is cheap as hell for the quality.

I would also like to add 250w/400w setups and tents or stealth DIY grow cabinets...

DocGreen how much did that cfm fan carbon filter cost you? I would like to get some feed back on those grow bags, and if you guys buy supplies local at hydro shops can I get a price range on how much soil/nutes/brands/grow equipment cost at these stores.(If its not to much work so I can compare prices)

I have a 1000w digital greenhouse from HTG and I personally hate it. It is loud - both the buzz and the fans, and is extremely hot. I cringe at the thought that I paid more for it than my lumatek which runs completely silent and much cooler.

/e I should say I loved it until i got a lumatek. Still better than the old magnetic ballasts.

I don't know about the secret gardens but I have 3 cheapo tents all from ebay, all from different sellers, and all three were great. It is pretty hard now a days to find the ones that off gas and hurt your plants and all 3 that I purchased were completely light proof, water proof, and of high durability material (much higher than I expected).

If you were to go larger than a 4x8 you might want to go with the higher quality ones just for support reasons. If I had to choose a weak link in my tents I would have to say it's the cheap pot metal supports. If you don't want to have to build your own 2x4 supports for the large amount of equipment an 8x8 tent would require you should probably step up to a secret garden. I personally would just build my own frame into a cheaper tent, those secret gardens cost a fortune.

Damn Gastanker I was going to upgrade to the Digital greenhouse 1000watt dimmable ballast.

My 600watt ballast is nice and cool and quite the fan makes a little noise when your face is right up by the ballast. My 250watt HTgsupply magnetic however hums way louder and it's hot to the point where you don't want to leave your hand up against the bottom of it.

Soil I buy Fox Farm Happy Frog it's $21.00 a bag containing 2 cubic feet of dry soil
They also have FoxFarm Ocean Forest which is $20.00 for 1.5 cubic feet of dry soil.
The grow bags work well if your using a lot of plants as their cheap and reusable if you wanted t I just throw mine away because of the low cost.

Nutrients vary in price and there are many choices.

Currently I use FoxFarm Grow Big and Tiger Bloom

a quart of each can be $20-22 with tax or you can buy their 3 part liquid trio for $40 in qt. size

They have Soil and Hydro mixes

I use the Grow Big and Tiger Bloom soil version I use them for soil but also going use them in my DWC I'm getting ready to use when I'm out of them I will be going with a product from General Hydroponic or Advanced Nutrients.

Thanks for the info []0 [] []\/[] []0 [] []\[] I've thought about building a grow cabinet 3x3x6 for stealth reasons and maybe flower 4-5 plants at a time.I got to thinking for a 600W a 3x3x6 or 4x4x6 grow space would be nice but building either out of two by fours wouldn't work because I wouldn't be able to get it in my door way. This being said I would have to disassemble then reassemble every time I wanted to take it down or get it into my grow room.If I needed to break it down real quick a tent would be better for reasons I don't want to mention, and getting it in and out of the room would be simple.I don't think I will go any bigger then 4x4 xD that's plenty to keep me happy for a few months until the next harvest!!!!!!!!!

Looks like a good lineup.

I have the older non dimmable htg 1kW so there is a chance they upgraded more than just a dimmer. I still wouldn't pay more for one over a lumatek though.
http://www.urbansunshine.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=233_244_251&products_id=17636 $300 and free shipping for the lumatek
$319 + $25 shipping for the HTG http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-Digital-Greenhouse-Dimmable-1000-watt-Ballast.asp

I know you can use the 2 part lucas formula on that General Hydroponics Nutes and a gallon running $20 a piece is cheap as hell xD but i'm not sure on the results on the harvest using this method.
