I use epsom salt too but be careful not to overfeed, magnesium can burn the roots or worse if you give them too much. I usually add it every other feeding to be on the safe side.
Alright Thanks, Do you use 1 tablespoon per gallon of water?

Yesterday i almost finished the box, entire inside painted flat white, front panel and doors screwed on, light hung, fan mounted, ducting ran, ballast mounted outside box, wiring ran.
I still need to try and quiet my fan(pictured) it vents out a 4 inch square hole cut at top of box, and it is loud, i am thinking about building a insulated box with baffles to quiet the air.
What kind of silicon should i use for interior of my box? and would 2 peices of window screen be sufficient at keeping bugs out(for intake?)
anyway how does my almost finished box look?

hey! clones are transplanted and vegging and 4x4x6 box is almost done, so i thought it would be time to start documenting it.
i have 4 blueberry clones (mostly sativa) and 5 blueberry clones( more on the indica side)

using 9 4 gallon pots, #4 dirt, and Advanced Nutrients micro grow bloom ph/ppm perfect.

I plan to veg for 2 weeks- a month( under the 400)

my 2 female Nebula seeds cracked today and were put into pots(with tweezers)
along with 3 regular mango seeds, they are in a tray and dome, about a 1/4 inch above a heat mat, ill take off the dome when they each have a set of leaves.
nebula and mango will be mothers for my next crop.

i have a lumatek 400w dimmable ballast. 265 cfm blower
clones are currently under 3 2ft T5's untell i finish the box. i hung a 13 watt cfl above the seedlings to give them some light to grow towards, i will fit them in under the T5's once they pop above the ground.

Id be lieing if i said this was my first grow, i have started seedlings/ clones, grown mothers and cloned, finished a grow outdoor, but this will be my first time to this scale and flowering indoors, How am i doing?

(3rd pic is sativa 4th is the more indica blueberry if you cant tell)

Happy Friday 13th, 420~ Your question about silicon(e)...are you asking about sealing corners / seams? I'm new to growing, so my feedback is certainly subject to anything from the experienced growers, but from a construction standpoint, any 100% silicone (silicon - no e - refers to the stuff they make computer chips out of) should do you well. Stay away from anything not 100% silicone....usually a latex component. It dries out, cracks, shrinks. Beyond that I shouldn't think which 100% you use matters....go (comparatively) cheap. Whether they label it for bathroom use, window use, whatever all irrelevant.

My spaces are both supplied and exhausted via rooftop attic ducts with factory-attached bug & debris screens. I'd like to insert (somewhere) some simple, non-hepa rectangular furnace filters to ratchet the filtration down a notch. Don't know when or if I'll get there, but methinks that your newly constructed grow box would fairly easily accommodate a standard furnace filter and give you some additional security against bugs small enough to possibly squeeze thru your screen. If you do this, you'll want to be sure the entire surface of the filter is being used though...don't just drill a 4" diameter hole through the OSB on one side of the filter or you'll effectively cut your air movement big time.

I think my blueberries are about a week behind yours. 3 weeks from germ date side view.jpg3 week old babies looking good.jpg3 weeks from germ date - 8 blueberry and 2 hybrids.jpg

Thanks to the both of you! downhill, about the latex, yes for sealing corners/ couple small gaps where plywood is chipped under weatherseal and a little light leaks, i was thinking bathroom silicon would be fine but just wanted to check! and a furnace filter is a great idea, just not sure i want that large of a hole in the box, i will probably just drill a 4 inch hole, make a square frame around it with 2x2, and staple 2 layers of window screen, if i have small bug problems i will upgrade. and about your blueberry, they look like mine did at 2 weeks, seedlings grow alot slower then clones. i havnt been counting the veg time of the clones though, im guessing about a month, they have streched a fair bit from hps but a mh bulb is the first thing im buying. Good luck with your grow.

Today clones are looking much happier then last pic, i transplanted 3/5 into their final 4 gallon pots, box is sitting at 82 degrees currently- will update with pics after transplanting is done.
I have solved my noise issue, i remember stumbling upon Panasonic whisper fans awhile back. so i searched amazon today, 150$ for a 240 cfm 6" fan, that im convinced is the quietest on the market, paired with being mounted inside the box on rubber feet, and running 6" insulated duct to vent the hot air directly out of the shop, it will solve my heat problem in the daytime and my noise problem aswell.
Can i get some input on someone who runs non air cooled ballasts? my cooltube is kindof a pain in the box, and im loosing cfm from the duct taking corners, i would love to have a cheap batwing reflecter, and my fan sucking air from carbon filter, clean and out of the way, plus ill get better light coverage, but will i have heat problems-with 240 cfm through a carbon filter?
it been 20-25 in the day time latly, i could switch to a 18/6 cycle and run the light off for the hottest hours of the day?

thanks!-I got my clones from a freind, whos uncle has been growing this bb strain in bc for years,
and yeah i would stick to regular seeds all around, a experienced freind grew 9 feminized bb seeds from a holland seedbank, after he cloned a tray off each plant, stuck the mothers outside, few weeks later 2 trays and 2 mother plants showed signs of male.
Buy regular seeds, start all 10, kill weak/slow growers, take a clone off each remaining plant, pick best female and take clones off that.
only takes a few T5s to start seedlings, my seedlings are under 3 2ft T5s and doing well, 2 of the mango are very bushy.

Today i visited a couple guirrila grows i havnt been to in a month+, one is now unacsessable unless i find a new route, the trail i took to cross a river has been blocked, and the other (green crack) have grown into 2 4.5 ft tall females, they are 100% organic, used what i could afford from subcools mix on bottom half and seasoil ontop, roots have outgrown 10 gallon grow bags, and i will be transplanting into garbage cans full of #4, chiken manure, sea soil, and a organic feed mix(being given the cans full) These are the largest plants i have ever grown and they havnt even started budding yet, i am exited, will take a few pics when i transplant(forgot to bring camera) i have other plots, but these 2 are doing the best and i cant keep up with updating all of em so i will take pics every time i visit to water.

There honestly beautiful girls! i cant wait to get em transplanted, was busy with watering and feeding molasses to all my gardens today, this season is taking a unexpected turn. some i put out very small and have only watered once, have grown into 3ft lovely ladies, and 2 in one hole because they were clones i didnt expect to both live or both be female, have grown into 2 ft tall bushes, all female.
everything else doing much better then expected.
forestry has blocked every route to side of the mountain i have my 5 mothers on(one or 2 of which are male i am pretty sure) so i need to find a way up there and pull the males, or i might just have to hope for all females or expect a seed crop upon a dirt bike ride at end of season.

Now a Question on indoor, how much longer can i veg my plants before i flip, box is 6 feet, cooltube-6"+ some space for heat say a foot, and a foot for pots, thats 4 feet of growing space.

Why did they block off the mountain? Sounds like you need a dirt bike .

lmao...I just read what you said about dirt bike right after I typed it.

I'm not really sure how long you should veg...but expect the plants to stretch 2-3x larger than they are when you do the flip!

Today i took 2 clones of the blueberry-to keep a mother, they are looking droopy and sad- is this normal to happen soon after cloning?
i haven't had problems with cloning before but im also not sure if they drooped like this after i took them last time- i am going to take another 2 if these dont root, i just dont want to stunt the mothers as there being flipped in a week or 2, and i want as many budding sites as possible.

So the other strain im growing, i acquired from a friend who had very seedy weed( picked 12 seeds out of a few buds(from his uncle) that he is 100% sure it is greencrack, is it possible his uncle has a strain of green crack that seeded? as ive heard its clone only, i think i may take a few cuttings of this also to keep a mother, it has done very well outside(4.5 ft) so im considering it, just looking for some input.

Clones have recovered and perked back up. Im going to take 2-4 clones off a nice bushy outdoor "greencrack" plant today, to keep the strain, and if it turns out to really be gc i think ill be glad :-P
Also going to construct a 18x24 wood T5 reflector, ill paint it white and mount the T5's leaving room for 5 with reflectors, and i will be able to keep plants in one place and raise and lower light.

no need for a mh bulb really. You can grow fine with just hps, but I too, like to use the mh for veg only, and save the hps for just flowering.

But you don't need just mh for veg.
