400w lamp is it man enough?

hi all is a 400w grow lamp man enough to grow 8 plants is a 2 by 2 grow tent?? what does big buddha cheese yeild like? thanks happy new year

Not sure about the big buddha cheese, but a 400w is definitely enough light for a 2' by2' space. The question you should ask is how you gonna vent a 400w in a 2' by 2' tent.

I wish i could be running 100 watts per square foot, because that's like 12,000 lumens per square foot. Actually, the sun puts out about 10,000 lumens at high noon, so maybe 12,000 is too much? I'm not sure, because i've never come across anybody with that problem. I'd thinik you would be safe if you kept the light at 20 inches or more from the tops, but don't take my word for it, because that's just a guess. You'd need a light meter to check the actual lumens, or talk to somebody who knows more about light and how it decreases in intensity, over distance. I know it decreases by 4X each time you double the distance from the bulb, but that isn't enough info for me to be able to tell you what would be a safe distance from the tops. With that kind of power, some CO2 would really help.

how tall is the tent mate? i've got a small budbox which is .75 x .75 metres and a metre high with a 400 watt hps and i need to run an aircooled hood, also for the amount of plants its really depends on style you are growing, but yeah 8 would work just need to tailor your veg to your area

hi all my grow tent is 1mtr x 1 mtr x 2mtr, soz i got it wrong i have a carbon filter which is on a ruck steel tube fan, any help?

i have the same size tent, i had 6 growing in it but after 3 weeks of flowering i had to take one out to give the rest room to grow and allow light to the lower plants( i run 1000watt hps). if i was working with a 400 hps i'd seriously consider some cfls to go at the sides or bottom

That sounds like a tight sqeeze. Alot of times you can yeild more off less plants in the same area by giving them more room to branch out and having space for bigger pots for better root growth.

what strain did you have? did you veg for long? what kind of yeild did you get? thanks

will need an aircooled hood and venting.
