But if I tie it down enough, shouldn't that stop it from getting too close?

Is this method going to kill my yield? or will I just have stocky plants with lots of buds?

um, honestly I don't know how it'll turn out when it's said and done. You'll probably have some little plants with lolipop buds. Then again two ft isn't tiny. I've seen six inch plants with buds on them, and you plants will probably be around 12-16 inches tall after the space your light and pots will take up. You should really look into learning how grow a proper scrog. It will be the best way to maximize efficiency in your grow space, and will be the best way for you to get a decent yield.

Do you mean continue growing it the way I'm thinking of doing it and just read up on how to do it properly..?
So, when you put the water into the pot, a lot of water just goes right through the medium right? So I'll have to have a massive water collection tray?
Couldn't I veg it for awhile allowing the plant to grow out a bit? How much will it able to grow by just going straight to flowering stage?

Just found a nice chest of drawers 87 wide, 40 deep, 99 cms high would this be better suited to it?
