I know my join date is quite recent but due to these boards in particular i feel i know a lot more about growing now. So sorry for what is probably an easy question, i did do a thorough search. I just found this and assumed it was the same but dont wanna spend the money and turn out its useless.
Heres the info:

400w Sodium SON Low Bay Fitting

* Quality 400w SON Lamp Included
* Lamp Life approx 10,000 hours
* Tough durable, pressed steel construction
* Pre-wired internal control gear
* Alternative lamps can be fitted if desired
* 250w version available
* Metal Halide HQI version available

This tough and durable fitting is suitable for lighting of warehouses, garages, factories and can be used as a high intensity output device for the cultivation of plants in an inside environment.

This Sodium version has a soft colour temperature output.

It is easy to change the lamp in this unit for a wide variety of different purposes."

Thanks in advance for the help, Really appreciate it.

Well every other refference to Sodium Son that i can find is a HPS so i would say yes. And that looks like a nice lamp at a nice price, remote balast would be nice but at that price, go for it. I paid 2x that for just my reflector, hell i paid half that just for my cordset.
Good Luck

excellent cheers for the help. Yeah when ever i've seen people mention the prices of HPS on here they seem to be 100+ which is why i was a bit worried about this? Thought maybe i'd need to buy parts for it to work, ballast etc. But this works out of the box, i think?
