400watt Digilux MH vs. 400 watt Eye Hortilux Blue MH

Hello again fellow growers and smokers alike. I am posting this thread asking the RIU community what their thoughts are or opinions on choosing a 400 watt MH bulb.

I am setting up a nice closet for a close family memeber, and I am stuck on which MH bulb to choose. I have done some searching and have'nt really found anything on RIU, so I thought I would take a poll and see what people reccommend.

SO, I am tossed up between Digilux 400 watt MH or Eye Hortilux Blue 400 watt MH.
Digilux claims to be the superior blub manufactor, however I have no exp. using Digilux.I have always used 1000 watt Eye hortilux Blue MH and I cant say enough great things about Eye Hortilux.

If anyone can tell me or show me some results with the Digilux that would be great. Price wise, the Digilux is like 5-10$ more than the Eye hortilux with about 1,500 more lumens than the eye hortilux. AS always, opinions are welcomed. Thanks again everyone on RIU. Rock on and BONGS AWAY!!!!

Wowzer, I am hard up to believe not a single member of RIU has an opinion or recommendations on my thread. I thought it would stir up some awnser. I guess I can stick to what I know works.
Sad to see RIU turn into this. Been a member almost a year and this is not typical RIU...Guess I will just have to jump ship and go to a more active forum like Green Passion . org

From what I understand the Digilux bulbs won't available until the end of may... Discount Hydroponics website lists it (item #DX400MH) as an invalid product, same as (item #DX1000HPS) the 1000w Digilux HPS I recently inquired about. When I contacted Discount Hydro, they told me the bulbs were (hopefully) going to be released around the end of May. You didn't get an answer because there probably isn't a single member who has held one of these bulbs in their hand, much less had one long enough to test it out.

I compared the new 400W bulb by Phillips, there Ceramic Metal halide with a sun agro and that new CMH produced more thrichomes then I have ever seen.

The Digilux bulbs are GREAT! Amazing difference between the Digilux and the upgraded Hortilux. Very much noticeable. Speaking of the 600W HPS

Hey just reviving this as I'm shopping for a new bulb to mate with my new Lumatek 600w(400w and 300w selectable). I've heard bad things about Hotilux not liking Lumatek ballasts...not sure if the new ballasts fixed that??

Hey Cissy, what did you mean by "upgraded Hortilux"?....Does that mean upgraded for the digital ballasts?

"Enhanced Spectrum", as they call it. Supposedly an upgraded bulb that you can pay a lttle more for when buying a "complete system". Whether there is any difference between a regular Hortilux and the "Enhanced" version, I do not know, but there was definitely a difference between that "Enhanced Hortilux" and the Digilux

i have a 400 watt hps digilux bulb and its so bright and it grows great plants.. next gen ballast.
