4x8 tent with 4 Platinum LED p600s or 4 VIPARSPECTRA Dimmable Series PAR1200

Im planning to have 8 plants in flowering in a 4x8 tent, i was wondering if platinum LED is that much better than the VIPARSPECTRA Dimmable Series PAR1200

There are far better options for the money. Both lights are mediocre using old tech.

You could run 2x hlg550s which are on sale till midnight tonight. They are genuinely equal to 1000w hps. Would kick ass in that space.

There are sooo many better options than p600s. Any HLG fixture. any good cob set up.
ChilLED lights are top notch.

Take a look at what folks are using in LED grows these days. Its all about COBs (white light) or mid range diodes which are very very efficient. (also white light)
Those multi band LEDs are old and either cheap crap or over priced crap.

Go check out growmau5 on youtube and learn a bit more about whats good. Go see what the LED growers on here are using. I can guarantee its not Plantinums or kind or any such blurple lights.

When the first line of platinums sale pitch is
"Platinum LED lights have the HIGHEST PAR/LUMEN OUTPUT PER WATT of any LED grow light" a total lie, you know its a bad start.

I'm just throwing this link up to show you what I'm talking about.
https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/products/hlg-550

But the important thing is the info

Power 250-515 Watts
Voltage Range 90-277 VAC
LED 1152 pcs Samsung 561C
Flowering Footprint 4.5'X4.5' or 4'X5'
Veg Footprint 6'X6'
System Efficiency 161 Lm/W
System PPF Efficacy 2.4 μmol/joule
<This is what you want to know that most BS LED companies don't tell you
Total output 1265 PPF
Dimensions 26"X20"x3"
Recommended Mounting Height 18-28 inches

This is one example from one of the reputable companies that advertise on here. There are lots more who are creating genuine quality LEDs.
HLG
Timber grow lights
Tasty LED
Pacific lighting concepts
ChilLED
There are probably more I cant think of. Either way look up all of them on youtube, you can also find all of them on here, they are members, do a lot of research and testing and have 1000s of happy customers who would be happy to recommend.

I'm not affiliated with any of them, but I own 660w of cobs and 570w of quantum boards. Both from HLG, but the COBs were a DIY project, which is very common but not everyones cup of tea.
As I say take a look in the led section and ask around. There are plenty of grow diaries with these types of light.
look up @lukio , @The Dawg , @zypheruk , @Growmau5 , @captainmorgan , @NapalmD those are a few members on here who I know have good documented grows with quality LEDs. There's many more but I'm too stoned to remember much.
I cant recommend enough that you check out growmau5 on youtube. Very well documented grows. Also check out greengenes garden while on youtube.

Good luck, its probably going to be a mind fuck but in a good way.:bigjoint:

...what they said!
For less money you could get better quality light and at less wattage than these.

I'm not familiar with spectrum king, but having had a quick look there seems to be positives to their lights. Although I don't see any info Efficacy info but that might be there amongst the pages somewhere.

Just to point out I use 570w of quantum boards, they are a kit and take 5 min to assemble, I use 2x the 260w kits (max power 285w)in half my flower tent, so they cover a 4x4 space very easily. That may be a more economical choice than the HLG550. But I'm not 100% on the efficacy difference between them. @robincnn or @Stephenj37826 would be able to tell you more about that since its their company.

Which ever way you decide to go its just good your spending your cash on a good light and not on BS.

As they pointed out earlier the HLG-550 is a great choice. If you hurry before the discount code is disabled you can snag them for 839.20 each shipped until later today. I think lol. Code is Banana20 if it's not disabled.
