GrowTech

stays relevant.
Yeah... 4x8 is way too big FOR HIM. LOL. I'm running a 4x8 tray, and a 1kwHPS on a 6' light mover... things will be fine bud. dont trip.

but it make sense that 2 600 would work better. constant light, more power, and form what ive heard 600w ers are a lot better as far as power... i just dont no.... will see what i can do....

just think how sweet it will be with a dual... only 1 ballast, 2 hoods, its digital so its 20-30%more efficient than a magnetic. thats what i would do if i was u for sure. i bet that it would be less if not the same amount of power used if your current 1000w ballast is a magnetic. plus it would look good . u would walk into your grow area and everything would look sweet. plus it would pay for itself in saved energy the ballast im talking about does not get hot either thats another thing to thhink about it will be easier to keep your area at the desired temps

personally if i dont have to use a light mover i wouldnt, more things to go wrong, did i get more out of the 1000-600 combo over the 2-600,s ya i did.for the extra 400 watts did it still work out to more yes it did.but if you could run two lights off of one ballast and its in your price range go for it it.my personal favorite is the 1000-600 combo though.but you have alot of options, but when you compare a 1000 to a 600 right next to each other it is no comparison, yes i know all the stuff closer to the plants heat and so forth,im just saying a 1000 lights it up,it just does.

i have not found not even close that you save 20-30% useing digital.maybe 10%tops if that.

i use the solarmax and the ceramalux,to be honest the 50 dollars extra you pay for the solarmax,i never could tell the differance from the ceramalux by phillips.i think the solarmax dims faster, just my 2 cents.but every one swares by the solarmax so i got some on sale.

ya ive seen them, never used it seems a little pricey, but ya the ceramalux will do fine, the solarmax never increased my yield but apparently the plants love it,i just wish they would show more appretiation for it and yield more.

please dont get me wrong if you want to go with the 600,s they are fine,i dont like that feeling as if your telling someone to do something,im just explaining my experience,i also do not like the fact that 600 bulbs cost so much,if you have the 1000 already and you have to sell it for less then you paid, use it its a great light,i also feel that the 1000 stretches the intencity over to were the 600 is,i added 2 more feet and tried 3 600 in a row,i went back to the 1000-600 combo, but others may say differant and thats fine we all have differant opinions, and thats why its great to share them.

yeah well this 4x8 is a huge deal for me i only have two small tents so im trying to get this right with a 1000w but people keep telling me to do two 600w lights so im trying to figure this out

well you want to try and shoot for at the very least 50 watts per square foot. you can certainly grow with less, but 50 is in my opinion, the very minimum for good light penetration and a heavy harvest. right now im growing in the same sqft as you are, and im using (4) 400w lights. thats exactly 50w per sqft. next grow im upgrading to (3) 1000w lights in the same area. that will give me 93w per sqft, and i will be able to penitrate into even the thickest foilage. (2) 600w lights will be much too weak, and your going to wish you had stayed with your 1000w. two 600w=37.5w per sqft.

get two 1000 and you wont be sorry...
