56w Hans panel, short box of LST. Currently at two months progress. Lots of pics!

I'm kind of surprised you're not having any trouble with bleaching from the blues - it seems your light is right on top of the plants when the lid is closed.

^^^looks great!! and for only 56w of led power, it's very impressive what this little panel can do............I like the box too

great job and keep it green grower.....
Thanks man, your review of the panel was actually a big reason why I went with that panel. I'm not using it to its full potential yet (too many user errors on my part), but I hope to improve grow by grow.

Well, there's some minimal bleaching on some leaves of my otherwise healthy sativa plant (at least I think that's what it is, doesn't look like any deficiency from the deficiencies chart I've got) but otherwise the panel is very forgiving of my letting the tops reach it. I am getting some heat-stress, but that's only due to my very weak venting of the box.

I am actually looking for a somewhat stealthy 4inch extractor fan, if anyone's got any input on that I'd appreciate it a lot.

3 Months from Seed, 2 Months 12/12. Gearing up for what seems to be an August harvest - I'm hoping I'd be able to chop everything by 25 of August to be exact. If you prefer, you can view the whole album here: http://imgur.com/a/DyG7a

First up, my pride and joy. Sativa looking girl, really excited about this one. Smells good, sticks to the fingers. I didn't notice any ballsacks so far.

Next up is my dual pot. Both plants seem to be some short of hybrids. I want to say "Indica", but I wouldn't bet my ass on it. Big one doesn't have the trich production of the other two, but it's getting more and more as time goes by. She is also popping male parts in quite a few places. Will be giving her the chop as soon as she matures a bit more. I picked a couple of ballsacks to breed with my main girl above.

Plants were stressed by numerous human errors, like constant messing around with the light switch and forgetting to switch the lights back on (and sometimes, off). I hope that I will manage to not get hermies if I actually get any seed from breeding these two, if I avoid stressing them with stupid mistakes.

Hermie's main cola, with short stuff (plant no2 in this pot) in the background.

This is my short one. Beautiful little shortstuff.

Again, that's shortie on the right.

Alright, so the Hans panel seems to be doing the job so far. I think I've messed up quite a bit with ventilation and also underestimated the panel's penetration; my lower buds seem to be getting better trichome production than the ones closer to the light (they are too close) - this might also be due to heat issues from inadequate ventilation. Also, I found out first hand that you do indeed need to water less when dealing with leds.

That said, the panel runs pretty cool (32 degrees Celsius at the lower canopy, 5-6 degrees above ambient).

My remaining two priorities for the box, which may not happen throughout this grow, is to somehow make it taller so that I can get a bit more distance between the light and the canopy and also to fix the damn ventilation/carbon scrubbing.

Still need suggestions for a mid range 4inch fan, so I'm all ears if someone has anything at all to suggest (preferably from a European shop).

I'm wondering if you can run a PWM dimmer? You should email Hans and see if you can. Dimming will do what you want, unless you want to increase footprint. You probably can't because of the mix of diodes but maybe. Have you thought about lowering temps or adjusting your light cycle to get the plants to finish? Could work, still it's a pretty damn beautiful grow ya got there. Good Luck and Kill Hermietta and her nasty testes-fest fast ;).

Hey FranJan, I actually did re-adjust my light cycle a few days ago to go to 11:15/12:45, is that what you mean? What's a PWM, you mean like a dimmer for the panel? I don't want to make it less powerful, I'd rather find a way to MacGruber the box taller!

Hey ak84, PWM = Pulse Width Modulation and is a type of dimmer compatible with some leds, if not all modern CREEs. And if your stressing your plants from the proximity of the LEDs, dimming done right, will achieve the same results as backing it up. I look at an LED panel as having an zone of effective lighting. Raising the panel increases your footprint(zone), but decreases radio/photometric output in that zone The actual size of that zone of depends on so many variables that you would need a degree in math and a month to figure out. Or you can just grow and experiment and see what happens, which seems to be our lot. Still, it's easier to go taller so I gotcha there. Increasing ventilation is a good idea if you think the panels are too close too. Best of Luck and I hope she's killa!

Week 10 of 12/12! I was about to harvest only the tops from my plant that was the most along, but the lower branches and popcorn had even more balls than the tops. Decided to cut the whole thing. Poor hermie, I hope she hasn't fucked the rest of my plants too much.

I also ended up with quite a few fluffy popcorn buds, but decided to throw them in the cornflake box along with the trimmings. Gonna make edibles once I harvest everything.

Then I spread out/rearranged the LST on my short stuff that's in the same pot.

Here's the pics!

78 days in flower! My math may be way off! Point being, I started the seeds around April 20, vegged for less than a month (mid to late May) and now is the 7th of August.

First plant weighed in at 18g dry. Kinda what I expected from her, she was FLUFFY! So, I used her bones to spread out my LST a bit more on my two remaining plants... Which I may have underwatered a bit these past few days. I have high hopes for my single-in-the-pot girl, next time I will probably be single plants flowering in each pot. My shortie is also maturing, but she won't give much it seems. Probably shy of 10 by the looks of it, which would put me close to a zip for one pot. I expect Singe Girl to produce more than the two combined actually, but that also has to do with the strain.

Congratulations my friend. nice buds!!!

this is the new Panel (with white LED) or old version?

holy shit......I've never seen bud that size with that panel, congratulations again.

Hey AK

Awesome Grow Cuz! Big up. Massive impressed with how much yield you got in such a small space! I got Two of Hans' Panels in my room. one for Vegging and one specifically for Flowering. Cannot imagine growing indoor anyother way for the costs involved! and Yeah... bag seed is for those that just wanna practice. Need them high quality Clones man!

I agree on you wanting to increase your room height, it can seriously increase the yield on your plants. I had a tall Indica that took three months from seed to end flowering with a fair amount of bud. I reckon the ways Hans Grows his Bud on his Grow Show will yield the best results, But that's just my opinion.

They are a good panel these ones , being so light too is really handy with ways to position them . It's like a GoPro of panels :) Anybody tried this method - two plants in 250mm pots , have them side by side and have one panel sitting over both of them . Have a second panel slamming them on the side so you are getting almost total penetration. I think over a full grow you would smash it.

I've been battling the August heat with very little success! My prized sativa girl is half the girl she used to be before the heats! Oh, the horror!

I will probably be cutting down today and posting the results. I wished to have this grow finished by early august, but alas, it was not meant to be. I made sooo many errors during this grow, it became hard to keep track of the things I actually did right.

Wow. Will update later or tomorrow with results from the pull.

Harvested 2 days ago. Wet weights 73g & 55g + samplers and trim which are not counted. I was confounded by the slow maturation (trichs were still mostly white with a lot of clear and very few amber - at the same time, the plants were physically degrading. I've narrowed this down to ph imbalances due to too many compost and molasses feedings, suffocating soil (needed more actual perlite, instead of a shitty perlite mix soil) that did not drain or aerate well and excessive heat. Also, the aeration inside my box left much to be desired. A lot of stuff needs to be fixed. Not sure if I'll keep the box horizontal. Anyway, here's the pics!
