I was in a 4x8 and did 4 in each 4x4 square and it was perfect in 3 gallon pots.
This time around I'm doing 9 (in each 4x4 square) just cause I wanted a shorter veg time.
I'd probley go with 9 and veg them to like a foot or foot and a half cause they'll almost double after stretch end up with 9 solid little 3 foot bushes.
Just read this... Awesome! Well 9 sounds perfect but I got some tester seeds in a 10 pack so I'm popping all those and will have a thread posted soon.
so 10 for flowering will be good i think if properly trained and spaced.

go with 16 (12" girls). if you are using 6"x6" pots it should give u about an elbow of finished depending on you. just make sure to FIM the girls in veg or you can MAINLINE or top or LST. you can go with 12 plants in 5 gallon pots. or u can go with 14 in 3 gallon pots. going with 6"x6" ur gonna have to feed from every other day to every day. 12 plants 5 gallons, every other day. and 14 in 3 gallons, are about every other day to everyday. if you feel lazy and the pot is still heavy from last feed, your good to just skip the day. But i encourage you to blow up ur roots, so that you WILL HAVE to feed everyday. that way you know you will get a good yield. I grow OG's so they werent at all bushy, they were more lanky than anything. so keep that in mind. if your plants are BUSHY then i would reccomend going with what the previous guy said. but if your plants are stretchy like OG's go with my numbers. but that guy also didnt have enough room. they were crowded to begin with. if you have a full 5x5 then go with my numbers. LOL!!

Good point i dont want to work against myself. So you think 9-10 plants would do well under a single 1000watt lamp?

Seriously Guys Thank you soOooO much for the feedback its greatly appreciated!!!!!:bigjoint: Thinking a Double Ended Light system with a different style of aircooled hood that does NOT draw cool air over the bulb since the Double ended bulbs need to be ran at a certain temp to reach maximum light output. Anyone have knowledge any personal experience with these double ended systems? Heard the D/E bulbs put out a better PAR rating for your plants, which in turn is better quality light, which in turn helps the plants develop better is what im guessing. Been reading these types of bulbs have helped increase yields up to 50%, obviously it vaires from person to person but anything that helps right?
Yes I have a buddy that uses this light system. and if you are going with ONE light only, you might as well make it this light. this is THE LIGHT TO USE. my buddy HAS had INCREASED yield as well. up to 10-20%. He only uses 1 light as well. but the downside to this light is that you HAVE to keep it up high. at least 32" from the canopy of the plant. that's what he told me at least. But yeah he said out of all the lights he's ever tested. that light and hood combo is superior to any other light hood and light combo out there. he said it blew away even vertical lighting and also bat wing reflector barebulb. but again, you have to watch your canopy and have a tall tent. 32" that's almost 3 feet above your plants. you can experiment. but i've heard nothing but great things about this light. just make sure you can keep ur tent cool as well! a portable a/c should do the trick! do perpetual harvest if you can. with another tent for vegging. i would use MH bulb a 600w to veg if u can get another tent. that way u can throw in 12-16 plants every 2 months.
