not even ebay has better deals... $500 for 1000w HPS seems the way to go

I could easily make weaker wattage work with some lst and supercropping. I'm going to research some science and look at other ways to get superior light sources

Would be nice to be able to get Grow Lights with my REP points.

Based on the price and wattage I am assuming you meant the Lumatek 1000-watt light system. That will burn both a Metal Halide bulb and a High Pressure Sodium so you have both the vegetative and flowering growth stages covered.

I would upgrade a few things from what comes standard, a better HPS bulb, and a spare, and a good MH bulb and a spare and I would upgrade the reflector. If you don't have a timer by then I would add a timer, the digital one with battery backup most likely and I would spring for the reflector hangers for ease of raising and lowering the light.

Insidesun.com has decent stuff for cheap. HTG has higher quality at the top end of course.

If I had the funds I would get top of the line everything.


I think I will settle with 150watts hps 1st and I will grow 4-5 plants at a time and I will have them all growing about 2.5weeks to 2 months apart and just keep them at 12/12 forever on my 2nd grow. just to keep gradual harvest, I don't know if there is a term for that. but that sounds ideal so that I will always be supplied. then of course being buy more and stronger lights and more plants. This summer I will go resource hunting and maybe even look for a grow house.... There are huge amount of abandoned houses and barns around here. I was thinking 1 without a roof would be ideal for an outdoor grow. i would make sure the windows are all boarded up and Line the entire house and walls with mylar/emergency blankets and let the sun do it's work. I'll guerilla that if I have an opportunity and will just keep growing indoors also. We'll see what I am capable of doing as funding is the main problem

ROFLMAO!!! Yeah, a big bright reflector like that would be completely missed by the 1st police helicopter to fly over!! But probably not the 2nd. Will be looking for your grow in the newspapers Taffy!!!

I wouldn't use InsideSun. I did and I got ripped off. I ordered a light system and was delivered had a different much cheaper reflective hood. I called and the guy I talked to said there really wasn't a difference in quality. I said regardless I paid more to have the other and I wanted it and said I would be returning the wrong hood. He said don't bother, he'd send it right back. I said I wanted to return the entire system and get a refund. He said no. I said I wanted a refund for the difference in the price of the hood, he hung up the phone.

If InsideSun was the only place in the world that sold grow lights I would stop growing inside and only grow outdoors.

After what I went through with them I wouldn't trust them any farther than I could comfortably spit out a rat.

Don't waste your money on a 150-watt and I would say don't get a 250-watt either. You will get very little light penetration from a 150-watt or a 250-watt HID light. Very often growers new to HID lighting will WAY overestimate the capabilities of a lower wattage HID light and before long be very sorry about their choice.

Go to 400-watts minimum or else you will only end up spending more on lighting in the long run because you will soon realize you need more light and then end up paying for another lighting system and the two together will add up to a bunch more than just buying the right, or at least the better light the first time.

Even if you had to skimp and purchase the HTGS 400-watt with magnetic ballast and have to run a MH conversion bulb for veg you would be much better off than going with a 150-watt, or a 250-watt.

$229.95 will get you a Digital Greenhouse digital ballast 400-watt light that burns both MH and HPS bulbs ... that is not a bad price at all for a pretty decent light.

Save a little more for a little longer time if you have to and purchase a good light. Later you will be very happy that you did.

I just ran into another dilemma... With the new 12/12 at 12am/12pm without a timer..... Some girl just private messaged me on Facebook asking for a late night sleepover and to pillow fight naked.... it's already clear from what she said before that, that she wants to get her back broken..... Should I charge her for the sex to buy a light timer? is there such a thing as a timer for ceiling lights? I guess I could google really quick.
