My plant is indeed a sativa from bagseed but I intended for a ten week flowering and I see no swelling, also she is in a three gallon pot and is 4 feet tall and is still growing without showing root bound symptoms. Normally I research this but couldn't find anything that might keep this happening except the fact I use nirvana. She has tricombs but this late in I should not be able to see the stalk through the calyx. Please does anyone know intell. + rep for thiz:wall:

well assumeing you water and feed properly, sounds like you got either bad genetics or a plant thats gonna be in flower a realy long time but then again you didnt give to much info on your grow if you want a vets help there gonna want pritty much all the info you got. As in grow medium, what kinda light, what temps do you run at, what kinda of nutes do you use, and how much, and how often, and any ofther info you can think of that might help.

Well I am using bag seed. This is my set up
• 150 watt per plant hps
• 3 gallon pots
• personal mix soil- perlite, vermaculite, unfert soil, manure, peat moss and river rock
• mix ferts- nirvana, snow storm ultra, bott. Probloom, gravity hardener.
• foliar feeding with snowstorm and water.
• watering usually when I see soil break away from the pot or every five days.
• sativa strain 9 weeks into flowering, three to four feet tall spaced tricombs no swelling about a zone on her dry weight but could be three if she filled out

I would like to think you would have some really nice filled in buds by then...pictures are worth a thousand words man. For others to see the problem, it really helps with diagnosis.

150 watt: take the lamp 20-25 cm above the plant.
A Sativa takes 11-13 weeks.
I had once
-silver haze
-strawberry haze
-hawaiian snow
-neville's haze and they go all for 18 weeks flowering.
The beginning was all good then in week 10 the had fluffy (means, softy tops) not swelling, no trichomes....

what to do:
take your lamp down, they are now in week 9.
make 10 weeks FULL with nudes.... please look what they do.
Further the 2 last week flusch theme verry good and the last week give theme nothing.....the last week nothing and the last 3-4 day's take the light away so the stay in completely darkness before cut these.

trying to do this also:
on the bodom you see the steal of the plants, take a toothpicker and push that into the steal (don't know the good word)
you give theme so manny stress that the plants will produce thc.
other you can break a top just between finger and middle finger and ....break theme, break over and it's hanging there. the plant do recover her and do her best to be alive so you can make many trichomes. believe me, have 8 years exp.
but the first thing about the toothpickers will work realy good, i do that every thime normely in week 7 (last week of food)P1280028.jpg

(look thise picture, you will see the toothpicker on the bodem)

It could be caused by a number of things, like....bad genetics, major interruption of the dark period, not enough light intensity, chopping too many fan leaves, etc......Hard to tell without pics, as mentioned. :)
