Hey all first post and first grow! I've been reading around on RIU for a while now and finally nutted up and got my clone and setup. I have 4 23w CFL 6500k's running, I just picked up the clone about 30 minutes ago and placed it under the lights. The Co-op told me that I should keep it under the lights in the container that he gave it to me in for about an hour and then I can transplant it.


Grow Specs:

Turkey Aluminum Foil Pan Upsidedown
4 x 23w 6500k CFL
6" Terracotta Pot
Miracle Grow
Clone - 91 Chem Dawg (very healthy)
Avg temp. 79-82F





I have a few quick questions however:

1. This clone is very green and has very good looking roots. I am wondering if I should be running it on 24/0 or 18/6?

2. What is the best method of watering a newly transplanted clone? Where should I pour the water, how much should I use, and how do I just keep the soil "moist".

3. Temperature, I have my setup in a closet and the temperature is about 80F right now with one fan blowing the air out of the closet. Any suggestions on how to cool it down when the temperature rises above 80F? I was thinking about placing frozen water bottles in the area to cool the general temp down, I am not really sure to go about cooling it down just a few degrees.

4. Training, which method of training should I use for my clone, I am doing a smaller type grow with a low height. I have been reading about the several different methods and I am very interested on some insight of which method I should be using.

16 Views no replies! I just added my timer and put it on a 18/6 cycle. Hopefully it will keep the clone happy and hopefully shell enjoy the darkness tonight=)

Alright last night was her first night with 18/6 the timer worked perfectly and the temperatures stayed decent! Never above 80F and stayed in the 77-78F area which I believe from what I know to be perfect! However, she is drooping very badly. The leaves all were not like this when I picked her up from the Co-op. She was very healthy and strong, is this transplant shock? Or is it a watering problem? There are pictures attached to the bottom with pictures of the specific drooping leave problem, and the picture of my entire setup. Feedback appreciated =)

It be beneficial to get yourself a humidity dome. Also, cloning in soil is probably one of the most difficult methods. Does she have roots?

She might just be experiencing shock from moving from one medium to another...if it gets really shriveled up, then you might be running into some serious problems. Get back to us.

Yeah when I bought her at the Co-op I had the shop owner pick the specific clone out of the many 91 Chem's he said this one had the most extensive root system, and trust me she did have tons of roots. I cut a 2-liter bottle and placed it over her, hopefully this will help. Boy does she smell very strong already! I hope that she survives the transplant

Your plant looks dirsty. My clones never had a dome or humidity and it grew fine. If you want it to grow slow, do 18/6. If you want it faster, do 24/7. Keep the cfls close as 1in. Keep a small fan on it and water it daily to keep the stem strong. Its better to water the foilage more often. I cloned my chem dog91 and it did fine from the beginning. Its my first cloning. My Chem dog 91 is from seed. Some Dank! I cloned only 4 Chem Dogs. What collective you get yours from? i have seen anybody with that bomb Chem Dog like me. besides the collective i got it from.

I just watered it and the soil seemed pretty dry, but the leaves arent yellowing they are just drooping really badly. I created a longed hood for my light fixture to block the light. I also lifted the plant a bit so it is right inbetween the lights and is getting very good lighting. Hopefully those leaves will thicken and strengthen. I also put the fan blowing on it, instead of using it for exhaust. What kind of training should I use to make those leaves stand up?

I watered it and noticed the soil was not moist it all it was very dried out so i added some water. the plant has started to spring to life! I went to homedepot and added 2 more 27w CFL these are 5500 however, change up the spectrum a bit. I also purchased a huge 68w 2700k CFL. I would like to know if I can go 12/12 from clone? It is about the size I would like to keep it and I want to know if I can begin to flower at this stage in a clones life? Thx for the help

Took the 6500k's down and put up the 68w 2700k light going to start 12/12 tonight, hopefully the flowering will begin shortly :) if this works successfully i will have a SOG grow going soon.

well keep it i the dark a couple days. induce flowering ur self! thats wat i did to this bitch, its a clone....vegd a lil longer but it werked in 2 days.......


two weeks into flower....

Yes I bought it from the clinic and it is about 12"-15" tall and the roots that were in the small soil brick that it came in were very extensive and very large. I transplanted it to a bigger pot in soil and have her under the light right, so I should turn it off and leave it dark for 2 days?

Yeah I just want a smaller plant, this is just a starter first time grow :) If all goes well I am going to be upgrading to HPS and doing it correctly :)

it will go well at this rate.:blsmoke:. i use a 150 hps right werks wonders, i bought an ak-47 mother like this...


to the pik i put up earlier....BIG DIffERENCE, he had it vegin under floro tubes.
