9x Fast Buds Smoothie Grow.

Week 5 done. Sorry I’ve not updated it recently. Temps are rising again due to a heatwave but they’re only around 29C.

Buds are looking healthy and growth is good. I think they’ve got as tall as they’re going to grow. In the last 2 weeks they’ve had 1 feed of mixed grow/bloom followed by water, then another feed of just bloom.

When you say 29 c are we talking air temp or actual canopy temp? Those green leaves soaking up all the light are usually at least a couple degrees warmer than the air.

Id imagine that’s the air temp. I’ve got 2 thermometers in my tent both read RH and Temps. I have 2 because I wanted to see the differences. One is at canopy level, level with the tops of the colas - that’s reading 30.2C but bear in mind in the UK today outside is 29C (85F) and tomorrow it’s going to be 32C (90F) - we don’t have any air con in UK homes it’s just not the done thing in this country. So besides having the windows open and the tent wide open there’s not a lot I can do.

The second is at the top of the tent sat at about the same level as the carbon filter. That’s reading 31C.

It’s gonna be pretty cramped in there won’t it be? I guess some defoliation might be in store. @JoeBlow5823 i think I’ve seen before that you do autos, have you seen any negative effects from monster cropping and other high stress training methods?

Yeh it will be cramped but they seem to have stopped growing in size and have started to fill out more. Last grow I did I removed a lot of the fan leaves and I genuinely believe it had a negative affect overall on the bud and plants.

sorry only just seen this! The tallest is 98 cm and the shortest is 67cm hope this helps. They’re autos so I didn’t expect monster plants. In fact the reason I chose autos is because they tend not to grow too tall for my grow tent. If they got another 50cm tall I’d have issues.
Thanks for the info! Thats also the height i'm aiming for more or less; first time doing autos so don't know what to expect. I'm used to photos and doing a long veg doing lst and topping so this will be new to me. I'm planning on just doing some minor lst and not much else.

Ive given up on autos. When i did do them i had great success with LST. I never did any high stress training. Autos dont like stress.

I put a bamboo stake in at a 45 degree angle and tied the plant to it every few days.

it all depends on strain though. This grow is Smoothie but my last was Girl Scout Cookies and they got bigger than these girls. You can check out my grow journal for that there too if you want to know heights on those too.

Heat isnt that big of a deal until late flower and heat is usually not an issue then.....
Normally I’d encourage the heat. This is gotta be the first year I’m praying for rain ahaha but someone did mention that when it gets too hot the buds don’t produce thc properly and it stunts the growth of the plant... not sure how true that is.

Very true, unfortunately, cannabis tends to like cooler temps around 25c, of course that is optimal. although sativa's usually are more resilient to heat than indicas and rudarelis ( the auto flower gene), because of the regions they come from. But 36c is pushing either way I think. IDK why you'd run an hps without a cooltube.
